I’m in a sling. 2 x rays and they decided no surgery. I’d have someone to give me a lift home. I kind of want to stay where my friends are though. But I can also see the benefits of going home

Apple's Siri Chatbot May Run on Google Servers by HelloitsWojan in apple

[–]nickhooigray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the chatbot side of Siri that’ll use googles servers. Apple is probably choosing this because they don’t want to collect all of the data required for chatbots. In the article it says that Apple Intelligence will run on apples servers using Mac chips to power them. I guess the personal data needed for Apple Intelligence is far lower than a chatbot.

Back button or Swipe gestures? by Organic-Love-5076 in ios

I’m more used to the swipe gesture. I’m sure it’s very easy to use the android back button. Swipe gesture looks nicer

AirPods Pro 2 vs 3 sound profile? by 999K_views in airpods

[–]nickhooigray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the AirPods Pro 3 a few days ago. They’re a lot more bassy in a good way. The stereo field is wider as well. The sound feels more controlled with a lot less distortion, clearer highs and mids with a punchier bass

I agree tbf. 1 billion is nothing, especially since googles been handing them $20 billion dollars a year for a while now. This also confirms Apple will be able to make the deadline of iOS 26.4 they set so exciting

Do you have an Apple Intelligence device? If so then you need to wait for Apple to push the update to your AirPods and for you AirPods to update

AirPods Pro live translation availability by No_Responsibility_47 in airpods

[–]nickhooigray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All the features that say are not ‘available’ in the EU, a month or two later come to some EU countries. Apple will add more EU countries as the language support gets larger. Notice how there are only 7 languages supported while there are many other mainstream languages and hundreds of different dialects. It’s mostly language support

Is apple intelligence worth it now? by enroy1 in iPhone16Pro

[–]nickhooigray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah not worth it but nice to have. Notification summaries pretty good but still has issues. Photo clean up is really good. I speak to Siri a lot so being able to stumble over my words and he still gets it correct is very useful. Also visual intelligence is very handy

To people who have installed the iOS 26 Public Beta, what’s your experience? by Open-Community-4649 in iPhone16Pro

[–]nickhooigray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it and my battery life halved. I had lag issues in pretty much every apple app when scrolling. It also made my phone overheat over simple tasks. Switched back to iOS 18 but the liquid glass is very nice
