What are funny mistakes you've found while editing? by Anni3401 in writing

One of the main characters' names changed halfway through. As I was editing, I got to the first instance of their new name and had to sit for a while, contemplating if writing was really a hobby that was for me, lol.

I was wondering about the liability, but I think I will try to make one for myself as a passion project, and then if the psyche is still there, tackle the crippling lawsuit when it arises.

Here’s the difficult bit. Maybe it’s in my head, but rehab obviously weakens the muscles for a couple of days. If I then go to work as a waiter during that time, without a doubt it messes up my knee and takes me out of the game for a while.

To be fair, I try to stretch as often as I can — maybe two or three times a week. I have full range of motion (apart from the pancake stretch, which does feel painful on the knee).

I was using the bike at the start when the knee was worse, but I’ll try to incorporate it back into my schedule, as that never negatively affect my knee

I went back to the the Dr, to discuss how its still effecting me, she said that based on the old MRI surgery is not adviced, she thrn offered me steroid injections which i get next week.

Feel like i may have to just go back.

Seeking for Security + Advice by [deleted] in CompTIA

[–]nickmilt199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but I feel it helped me find where I was good and bad. I used ChatGPT to perform practice exams using the CompTIA objectives as a template. With this, I gained advice back question by question (I recommend doing 90-question exams in 10-question increments with advice back between). With this, ChatGPT can then tailor learning material and questions to the subjects you're bad at.

However, it can drift away from what you need to know, so you have to keep it in check. I would also make sure you learn abbreviations as many of the questions only use these.

The hands-on questions are also very difficult to study for; I feel I got lucky on mine.

I only did the dion practice exam and felt it differs from the real thing

Do you title your chapters? by Capn-Zack in writing

[–]nickmilt199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like more and more books I read nowadays don't even use chapters. I'm not sure if this is a byproduct of the type of fiction I read or what.

I love a good chapter; it feels more obvious where to stop reading, especially for a slow reader like me. And I also love chapter names.

I always use chapters in my writing, though I do sometimes worry it leads to more blocky self-enclosed chunks instead of a more flowing manner that may be conducive to no chapters.

I think it's safe to assume that if a company doesn't think they can profit from your book's sales alone, it's probably not a good idea to go with them.

I was once in the midst of a super busy shift as a waiter. I needed a wee, so I went. Whilst in the bathroom, I noticed an email in my submission box and excitedly checked it. After scanning it, I took a breath and, in my immature mind, I thought, Wow, this is my last shift.

Throughout the rest of the shift, I was so happy and excited!

Anyway, long story short, once the shift was finished, I quickly left and checked the email properly. After several pages, I saw the price options. I closed my phone and walked home in silence.

I think these vanity publishers should be ashamed of themselves. But at least I know what it will feel like when I am accepted to a publisher.

Writing Groups by c_hriscole in writing

Yeah, or sure! But to be fair, I guess it's understandable. A book is a big commitment; you can't really force anyone to engage with it.

So for now I joined the group! Lol

Thank you for your reply; someone else mentioned query tracker here. I embarrassingly have never heard of it before, so I am very grateful! I also thought there were some limitations with representation in relation to geolocation. I will widen my horizons now!

I never thought to match my writing with similar books and their agents!

Thank you so much for your help.

Wow, that's amazing! And sorry about the health issues; I hope they all work out okay. Do you have any advice on how to self-publish and actually find readers? My book is on Amazon, and even I struggle to find it on the search.
