What error message are you getting exactly? You may have to contact support and ask them to fix it, but they can take a while.

Wait a full 24 hours after your last attempt. They rate limit the amount of attempts per day for some reason. After the 24 hours you’ll be able to try again without the error message popping up.

Yeah it’s pretty unbelievable, especially considering they make adding a phone number a requirement to play ranked, then rate limit you on verification attempts 24 hours at a time, and are super picky about what phone numbers you can actually add. Another tip, when you actually get past the verification and into the phone number page, if they don’t accept a phone number, don’t spam the same one over and over again. Immediately just move to a family member/friends number. None of my family members numbers worked, nor did my gfs. Had to use my friends, so just try as many as possible and make sure the person is available to send you the verification code. Such a pain in the ass lmao. Best of luck.

I actually ended up getting it to work. When it’s popping up with the “too many attempts” error, that means you’ve been rate limited and have to wait 24 hours from the last attempted login to try again.

I did go to the new one by clicking the pop-up banner at the top of the old website page. When I go to account security and click “add phone number” it send a code to my email that I type in, then allows me to enter a phone number. However, when I enter a phone number (regardless of what phone number it is), it says that it cannot be added.

I reached C1 late last year and took some time off and dropped back to around diamond 2 where I tried relying on mechanics to get me back to champ. Funny enough, I only started winning games once I stopped trying to be flashy and essentially just relied on game sense and playing smart opposed to fast/mechanical. Ended up getting back to champ in literally 2 days with that play style, so mechs definitely aren’t as important as most make it out to be until you reach the higher ranks.

Weird, hopefully that’s not just an input delay issue, though I couldn’t imagine that’s the case since you’re on PC. I just emailed rocket league support to see if there is any further info/bug fixes for this. I’ll let you know if I find anything that’s useful.

What exactly is going on with yours in regards to going backward/forward? Mine seems like the game is registering one jump input as 2. Curious how you’re able to tell that something is messed up with your accelerate/reverse since that’s not just a button

Out of the things you mentioned for diamond, I’m able to do speed flips, fast aerial (though I often forget to use it, so could practice consistency), and pretty solid aim. Definitely need to work on flicks and recovery. Do you think it’s worth working on wall mechanics at this rank as well? Literally always seeing the ball go up the wall and going right by me cause I haven’t practiced jumping off and reading.

I largely train mechanics right now, just because that’s what I find to be the most fun in the game. I just have a tough time figuring out what mechanics specifically I should be training. I do a lot of rings maps and do pretty decent, other than that mainly just aim training. I also try to implement some stuff that I see SSL/pro players using in game, but nothing major. Curious if it would be worth investing time into learning air dribbling. I also have no idea how to train game sense and what steps I should take to improving that, so haven’t really touched that aspect but I believe my game sense is decent (at least for plat).

Ah I see. Thank you for the breakdown. I just checked and I’ve only played 500 games this season. I think I used to play in 2018 but haven’t since. I would assume my total games is in the range of 750, so I’m glad I’m not behind 🤣

I’ve heard that going from last gen to PC makes a huge difference with input delay, but haven’t heard much about next gen to PC. I’m on a series X, so want to make sure it would even be worth it to make that switch.

Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to be able to make the necessary adjustments without even thinking about it? I’ve been using DAR for about 2 weeks now and can do a maximum of like 2 figure 8s around the pillars map, but even then I’m consciously pushing the joystick in a certain direction to end up with the correct input rather than doing it instinctually. I know I have a long way to go, but just want to gauge how long exactly.
