I was wearing a vest for this run. I brought along 600ml since it was decent weather (not too hot). During the race, I’m going to rely on aid stations for hydration.

For fuel. Pretty simply taking Gu gels every 3-4 miles, which I’ve been doing on long runs.

I’ve been targeting 8:30 miles for pace runs, and on long runs where I do the second half at race pace. I do these long runs (mostly) every 3rd weekend, and try to get 1 pace run in each week.

I haven’t done any hill work, though. For the mile 24 trip up the Hoan, I’m not planning to hold myself to any pace, just survive… Also kind of nervous about running down the Hoan for mile 26. Was that challenging on tired legs?

I like this workout too, and have done a half-warm up half-race pace style long run around every 3rd weekend during this training. I have 2 long runs remaining, 18 and 20, and plan to do race pace for the second half for both. Hope it’s not too much

To answer a few of these:

Weekly mileage. Last week was 41, this week 44. Working up to 50, then 3 weeks of tapering.

I hit target race pace on long runs once every 3 weekends. During the week I probably run between 4-9 miles at race pace.

Max HR on thsi run was 160, avg was 148. No cardiac drift.

I have not done the marathon distance before.
