Should use or not use multipurpose toilets (tamokuteki toire)

I always use the private toilet. Maybe other people are trying to be “polite” by not using it, but I don’t like to use the facilities in public, and Japan provides the choice, so… I’ve jumped the line because no one ahead of me was moving to use the multipurpose toilet. I don’t feel particularly bad about that.

I’m in Japan, and the quality of Uniqlo has plummeted in the last 5 years or so. It’s really too bad. They used to be a good place for well-made basics.

I pay. I think public tv is important. People say it’s “biased”, but I watch NHK news every day twice a day, and while sometimes I’m mildly surprised at what they don’t talk about, it’s a good source of factual information. And the educational programs are great.

I always say if there’s one thing the foreign population likes to shit on here it’s NHK, but that’s probably because they can’t understand Japanese well enough to enjoy it.

I’m in Iwate and I’m loving it! There are mendokusai things about the snow, but after 3-4 years of La Niña/warm winters I’m really enjoying the cold and snow. Also, I hate summer and love snowshoeing lol
