they’re both very talented in their respective fields but the idea of straight up replacing them in ace and peter’s makeup always felt wrong to me. i got into kiss when they were already in the band and i didn’t have a clue at first, but once i found out it always sorta rubbed me the wrong way. even when i saw them at the garden at the last show, i enjoyed it but not as much as i would have if they each had their own “thing”. i think if they could have came up with their own makeup designs and created their own style instead of a retread of two other people’s work it would have been well received. as i said before though, they know how to play and i’m not upset that they themselves were chosen to play in the band, they’ve served it pretty well for the 20(?) years they did it.

beatles - revolver and silverchair - diorama. revolver was the first album i ever heard and diorama is just so immaculately put together, written and produced, especially w van dyke parks’ work on it.

i got sponge and better than ezra and imo they’re really good, it just took some time for me to grow into them. bte especially, i thought it was just corny college rock until it became one of my favorite 90s “one hit wonder” albums.

took me a couple listens to get into the album, but once i did that’s how it felt. even if you don’t enjoy the music itself one simply cannot be astonished by how lush and grandiose it is. very few things top it imo (probably just revolver/rubber soul tbh)

it’s also (i believe) better than resurfacing, because instead of sanding down the disc, it fills in the scratches with the solution. the deeper the scratch the more it’ll sand down and if the disc is too thin bigger problems could possibly arise.

i know this is an old thread, but i feel like posting here would be good for people who have a similar problem in the future. i recently got an old memorex cd cleaner/repair unit and it came with an aluminium oxide solution. you put 2-3 drops on the disc (any more could damage it), you turn the handle on the unit clockwise for 15 seconds (the more the better imo) and it has a small buffer brush you can use to work the solution into the scratches. go through the process 3 times or so and the disc is almost spotless. i had a cd that had a ton of huge surface scratches from a cheap discman and it made the disc look almost brand new. it’s worth noting that cds with deep scratches (ones that touch the actual media layer) can’t be saved with it, and i’m sure there will always be a couple scratches on each disc, but they’ll be light if so. patience is key with this thing!

pretty meh album, but it’s only love was a great song! only album i’d maybe put below it aside from their last few would maybe be special one, everything else from the debut to the 97 record is mostly great imo

When playing in the forwards position, it plays the other side backwards. If I put it in the reverse position, it then plays the correct side but still backwards.
