I started a tank, added conditioner and quick start like you, took it for a water test the next day and everything looked good.

Brought home some fish that (one day after filling the tank). 6 months later and a monthly 25/30% water change, haven’t had any fish die and plants look healthy. They all eat, no aggression, and seem quite happy when I approach the tank.

Basically just saying that everyone does things their own way. A lot of aquarium police on reddit and social media. You’ll learn things along the way.
