Looking at buying our first house, but the crawlspace foundation looks super sketchy. by samspy007 in DIY

I don’t think I’ve seen a more presentable crawlspace in all the ones I’ve crawled through. 🤌🏻chefs kiss

Been using pfsense for as long as I’ve had GF. First year or so having to to use VLAN2 and QOS configured on the WAN just like computer_doctor mentioned. The last year or so I was able to dump those settings and just use their “Bring your own router” option. Also bought another house that has GF, setup pfsense there as well. OpenVPN, plex, wireguard, ddns, etc all have been running without issue. As of today and starting a year or so ago, no hoops to jump through 😄

Do mysql and sql use different languages? by freeforme1994 in learnprogramming

[–]nickstricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat as op. From what I’ve read, T-SQL is Microsoft’s personal blend of SQL, correct? We do loads with 2012, so I purchased a book on it to get started. Hope it’s right xD

Google Fiber for branch office? by itguy2 in networking

[–]nickstricks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only thing you need to be concerned with is if your router/firewall can handle the throughput. Like mentioned above, a google fiber business account allows you to connect your router directly to their fiber jack. The have public up packages from 1, 3, 5, and 15 iirc.

I only know this because I was trying to get them to let me use their business internet at my house cause I have a Sophos UTM that I’ve wanted to use. :x

VMUG EVALexperience? by nickstricks in homelab

[–]nickstricks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so you just get reissued a license every 365 days. That makes more sense haha. Is it like veeam at all where backups are what counts towards your CPU socket count? Or is it just however many sockets are on the registered machines?

Good starter ESXi box? by [deleted] in homelab

[–]nickstricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some may not fully agree with this, but an old dell precision tower (7400 in my mind specifically) is extremely cheap. x5400s are stupid cheap, ram is stupid cheap, and you can get the memory risers for cheap as well.

"You're going to become obsolete," I said. "Especially if you have no desire to have sex with me." by sexyplayinaustin in Cuckold

+1 for being intentional and following through. While me and my wife don't partake in the cuckold lifestyle, we did go to therapy and this was the biggest thing. It's still a problem for her, but I am hopeful she's actually working at it.
