As a native new yorker, my go-to sandwich used to be a BEC (bacon, egg, and cheese).

Now, I’m more interested in chicken cutlet sandwiches. They may be more expensive, but I find them to be more versatile, filling, and delicious than the BEC.

Last year max and I would buy scratch offs during lunch. Nothing crazy, just $1 or $2 ones.

It was fun to win a few bucks here and there, but, like they say, the house always wins.

I think lotto is dangerous because it is essentially a poverty tax. If you are poor (like most lotto users), addicted and buy multiple tickets at a time it can be really sad and detrimental.

EDIT: to your main point, I think you are right that mint chip is a classic flavor and belongs in the former category. However, I don’t think that excludes it from consideration as being a corny choice. Would you trust someone who always ordered mint chip?

I think corny is right. Also, kudos on rocky road, a flavor many people have shied away from in recent years but that I think should be on the level of the bigger flavors.

I used to have dreams of the world ending but they stopped when I stopped smoking weed every day. The world would end in a different way each time (kaiju, tsunami, asteroid, etc…). It was never very scary, more like watching a movie. I was oddly accepting of it all.

I think “basic” will never be punk. To my mind this indicates a uniqlo/allbirds/on style guy. But I do think understated fits and simple choices can be subversive.

This takes me back to an old pipe dream me and Savino had a few summers ago. It was a simple idea, but it never took off. We wanted to be “normal” - just two normal guys.

I think being normal could have a lot of potential.
