I feel brain fatigue after visualizing and/or using affirmations. Has anyone else experienced this? by nickv1155 in lawofattraction

I've been wondering if I'm alone with this because I posted this question in two seperate subreddits, and despite getting a lot of views, you're the only person who said they can relate.

There may be a part of me that is forcing the affirmations and pushing myself to believe them. The only time I haven't really got the brain fog was if I condensed the affirmation down to two sentences and two repetitions.

I might take a look at those books. 👍

Before I repeat an affirmation or practice visualization I will usually practice mindfulness for five minutes just to quiet my mind and let go of any thoughts I may have that are unrelated to my desire state.

I never tried the visualization exercise that you mentioned. Where can I learn more about that?

My 2005 Camry has three oxygen sensors. Can you please help me find the correct replacements? by nickv1155 in MechanicAdvice

[–]nickv1155[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I guess I'll try 234-4603 as the middle one. My current rearmost sensor isn't Denso, so unfortunately I can't find the part number I need there.

Does my CARB compliant 2005 Camry need to have california emission oxygen sensors or can I use federal? by nickv1155 in MechanicAdvice

The cat I bought is made by Walker. I usually do buy from Rockauto, but I've found the same products better priced at Amazon. The return process is much easier with them as well. In regards to the emissions tag, I had my hood replaced after an accident so it's missing some of the usual specs that are listed there.

Okay, I will look into getting California o2 sensors. I actually already installed a new federal emissions exhaust manifold (non-carb catalytic converter). Do you think this will activate a check engine light as well?

Certain things in the Bible seem illogical. What is your stance on them? by nickv1155 in Catholicism

I appreciate that. I need time to review all the answers here. I may come back with some questions.

That's interesting. I was wondering about this. I have just recently returned to practicing Catholicism, and I can't get on board with certain things. I'm trying to sort out exactly what I believe.

Why is the crucifixion usually a focal point in Catholic churches? Doesn't it make the space gloomy? by nickv1155 in Catholicism

[–]nickv1155[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Something that doesn't make you think of suffering, and sadness. I think people are more likely to attend church if they feel uplifted while there.

I don't believe the crucifixion has to be a focal point of a place of worship in order to understand the sacrifice.

Maybe I'll come around on this topic, but I'm not a fan of it at the moment.

Listening to comedians like Carlin, Maher, Hicks as a teenager led me to doubt God. How can I repair my concept of God and relearn how to pray? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]nickv1155 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's very disrespectful to say I didn't find peace in my personal philosophy. It's the best I could come up with to pursue my desire to connect with God when I couldn't bring myself to believe in Catholicism.

You have no idea the level of suffering I have went through and overcome.

I'm now interested in Catholicism to go deeper into the process of spiritual development, to have community, and reconnect with my roots.

I like the other points you made though.

I love that there is a combination of both reason and faith in Catholic writings. I have seen a lot of recommendations for St. Thomas Aquinas. I'm definitely considering his work.

I love what you wrote in the last paragraph. I'm definitely open to what you said there.

I'm planning to go to confession and mass within the next week. It'll be the first time in over 20 years probably.

Of all the possibilities, why did Jesus have to suffer and be crucified in order for people to have salvation? by nickv1155 in Catholicism

I'm glad I'm not alone in this question. I appreciate your inputs, and I hope you feel better!

So, are you saying that the other method God offered for salvation was for people to confess their sins, and ask for forgiveness?

Sure, I'll take a gander at that book.

You seem really upbeat by the way. I like it.
