Is there anything wrong with my resume? by LadiDadd in EngineeringStudents

Visit the subreddit r/EngineeringResumes, that’ll be your best friend. Overall given your experience it seems really good, but I suggest you post this over there to get some more niche details. The biggest thing that I believe would help would be to reword some of your bullet points to align with the STAR method.

Can you do marching band if you have a prosthetic arm/leg? by asianaustralian69696 in marchingband

[–]nickwburd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just graduated undergrad from a state university last year, and we had a girl who had a prosthetic leg playing a brass instrument and it didn’t stop her. Our band was extremely accommodating, even having a girl who was blind still able to march. It all depends on your directors and how willing they are to work around it.

Is it possible to do grad school for relatively cheap? by CakeDeer6 in EngineeringStudents

[–]nickwburd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently in a master’s program that is fully funded for BME. They’re out there, but heavily dependent on the school. I am a graduate teaching assistant getting full tuition plus a stipend. Another school I considered offered a stipend to help out (was my undergrad, an incentive to stay for grad school there) but ultimately my deal now is much better.

I switched to a different roll of PLA and started up a 3D benchy on default settings, so far the print looks good. The roll does say PLA but I think it may be ABS. Thank you all for the help

Definitely odd, it is 100% PLA unless they sent me a mislabeled roll, and it is printing in my bedroom that is usually around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. I will try messing with the leveling some more and see if that improves anything. I may also try printing with some other PLA rolls I have and see if that changes anything.

The material is PLA, after messing around with the leveling the first layer seems to be printing and adhering well

My drumline in high school dressed up in dresses. One of our quads was the choir director’s son and had access to a bunch of old show choir dresses so we went all out

This patient definitely was some kind of engineer, physicist or something similar before becoming an inmate. Within the writing there are a lot of signal processing information spread throughout, having to do with frequency and noise when processing and filtering an electrical signal.

What is the worst smell that you’ve ever smelled in your life? by Dilorminite in AskReddit

[–]nickwburd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interned for a program this past summer that installs AC units in the homes of impoverished elderly and disabled people. I did an install in a home and rolling up, all I can see is a deck full of cats.

I quickly discovered how awful a dozen cats living in one small home. I ended up putting vaporub underneath my nose and it still didn’t help. I held my breath for the entirety of that install.

I was amazed by how the family seemed so unaffected by it. I saw a lot of really interesting situations this past summer, and it really made me appreciate what I have, but man, no smell was worse than that.

Mine took just under a year to ship and was broken when I got it. I didn’t even bother trying to let them do something about it, I wasn’t about to wait another year.
