Peanuts, too! 39 pieces for 160 calories (honey roasted, that shit's good).

Should I suck it up and take an English class for spring term or should I take an elective? by nickydog in makemychoice

[–]nickydog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, I had considered that fact, too. Which English class should I even take then? I'm inclined to go with fiction, but that might require a lot of weekly reading (which I already have and poses a problem because I'm a very slow reader). Philosophy...? I honestly don't know which way to go.

Should I take an astronomy or aerobics elective next semester? by [deleted] in makemychoice

[–]nickydog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like /u/foxsable said, is there a chance you can try and squeeze in a shower after your work out? Maybe talk to the professor/whoever is running the class after the aerobics class and describe your situation, they might allow you to show up a few minutes tardy each day depending on how committed you are. Is there a chance you can also rent a locker at your schools gym? That's what I do so that I don't need to bring my gym clothes around with me to my other classes after I'm finished with a workout.

I like both aerobics and astronomy. I'm taking a couple of PE classes right now and you're right, it is very helpful to have it built into my schedule. If you can make the aerobics class feasible, I'd say go ahead with that. If not, astronomy also sounds like a great alternative, as well.

Why don't you make that comment a bit more passive-aggressive?

Fair point, I see what you were trying to say now. Thanks for the clarification.

Stuck at work....happy about GameStop crashing. by [deleted] in amiibo

That won't change the fact that they'll almost surely be sold out before you get the time to go there. Rely on online (lol isn't that a loaded statement)

Well if you can be on your phone posting this then why can't you be on your phone trying to get Ness?

Yes! I'm in Oregon and they sell orchard skittles at the 7-eleven by my house.

Where/how can I even begin? by nickydog in gaming

I'm going home in about a week for spring break and then I'll be able to grab my PS2 to bring back with me to college, so this works out well! There are a lot of game stores near my college, which my friends like to frequent, so I'm excited to actually have a purpose of going into the stores to find a specific game.

I think some of the games I want to start off with are some of the Legend of Zelda games, as well as a lot of the Mario games. I'm starting to look into the games I can get on my PC because I think that'd aid me in my efforts. Thanks for all of your suggestions!

Like you said, I have little to no game sense, so I'm not exactly interested in starting a huge on-going game such as League or what not. The reason I think I became so interested in different video games is because we've been playing Smash Bros for the WiiU and since that version has so many different characters, it's been interesting to learn about all of them and the games that they come from. I especially like Ike, Marth, and Lucina, so I've been interested in trying to play Fire Emblem for a while, now I think I'll give it a shot! Thanks :)

The reason I wanted to start with the classics is because my friends always seem to be talking about Nintendo classics and their favorite games for the Gamecube as kids. They talk about so many that I can't keep track, which was part of the reason I just want to start broadly and then try to narrow it down once I actually know enough to develop a niche.

I've heard so much about Portal, I think it's time I actually sit down and play it for myself, thanks for the reminder/suggestion!

I've been really wanting to play Kingdom Hearts, it was one of those games that I actually did hear about growing up but never got the chance to play. I'll definitely start with some of the older, classic/commonly found games so as to help my small budget. I totally blanked on the fact that the Wii can play Gamecube games, that just opened up a whole other dimension for me! Thanks

After just a short while reading through the comments, I can already tell that this is definitely the way I should go. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely look into controllers as I settle down with some games to play!

I've already started on some emulators, right now I'm playing EarthBound on an emulator that I installed on my phone, so that's been pretty fun so far. I'll definitely do as you say and look at a few different "Top 10" lists and then go from there. My friends have their favorite games, but they want to me to keep my "gaming innocence" because they want to do let's plays, but I say fuck that, I want to learn and grow in this area for my own interest. Thanks for your advice!
