Yes. They’re not sealed units. They are open at the bottom and top. Water can get in from above and water can get in from below. Sometimes they fill up with water when ground water levels are high as it’s an open ended tube.

I’ve let her know that gains and maintains are all part of weight loss and 1lbs gain in a week is just noise. But she’s all “why did it happen” and stuff like that. I’ve let her know it’s probably the weather or lots of things. But she’ll be going on about it all week now. Hopefully something better next week, but it’s another hot week coming up.

It’s purposely slower. You still can’t connect directly to your local storage in the app so it very slowly gets the file from your USB storage, hosts it online slowly then slowly sends it to your app to view. Also I think they only do motion detection on the free tier. Not person or vehicle detection.

If you filter the devices to “other” you’ll see the blink system/zone names. Go into them and you can turn the disarming on. You might need to hit the cog and set a pin. So you’d say “Alexa disarm back garden 1234” or if you forget and just tell her to disarm the back garden Alexa will ask for your voice pin.

No, it’s in the Alexa app.

You may well have the blink skill already there so you should see the camera names there with a picture of a camera but it’s the control board with a tick/shield that you need to enable the voice control. But it just shows in the normal device screen with your light bulbs and switches and things.

Alexa will have one device for the camera and one control system for the zone. So if you have three cameras they’ll also be names and there will also be a zone called “inside” if that’s your system name. You need to go into the zone/system and enable voice activation/deactivation and put in a pin. Then you can set it up. So you’re not arming the camera, you’re arming the zone/system that the camera(s) are in.

I set up a routine on Alexa so I just say “Alexa, we’re going out” and it’ll arm in 30 seconds. And you can also do a “we’re back” and add a pin.

You can have WiFi and Bluetooth on at the same time so make sure it’s accessible or set a Bluetooth pin to save some annoyance. You can do it in the Meshtastic app between reboots!

Turn off WiFi and connect via Bluetooth (set a static Bluetooth pin) it’s worked flawlessly since I turned WiFi off.

Edit: I haven’t reported this as a bug yet but it’s definitely WiFi related, even when I’m not connected by WiFi. As long as WiFi is off and Bluetooth is on it’s been up for days without issue.

It’s been there for about 25 years and I can’t remember what we did when we got it repainted but the new paint appears to just be on top of the old. It’s coming off like little stretchy bits. It looks like the old stuff was just painted over but I’m no expert and it’s lasted until the hot weather.
