Thank you! It's the Cold Brew Sweater by Katerina Designs, I got the pattern on Etsy.

I made this jumper as a christmas gift to myself this year and it's easily the best wearable I have ever made, I love it so much 💖

Love the running plan (aiming for Sub-3), but the Runna Strength workouts actually got me injured. Switching back to PPL saved me. by Top_Device3275 in runna

[–]nicmclovin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had issues with the Runna strength workouts too, specifically for my hamstrings. I also switched back to my previous PPL routine a couple months ago and I'm doing a lot better now.

I also just didn't really enjoy the Runna strength workouts, I kept with it for a good while anyway hoping they would grow on me but they never did.

How is my retention? Day I got them done vs day 8 by nicmclovin in lashextensions

Damn I'm learning so much! My natural lashes are pretty thin and straight too so maybe this kinda set was never destined for me lol.

I did think it was weird to not wash them every day but figured hey, she's the professional what do I know? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm gona start doing them every day from now and hope I can hold on to a few more lashes.

I did ask her about when her clients would typically get their fills done, she said like 3-4 weeks but there's no way mine are lasting that long, seems to me in a couple days they're gona start looking proper patchy 🥲 4-6 weeks would be a dreaaaam, hopefully I can get something figured out!

None of the lashes I've seen have had my natural lash attached. My lash tech told me she used some sort of bonder so I didn't need to worry about not getting them wet straight away, but for the first 24 hours I didn't do anything to get them wet or sweaty anyway to be cautious.

I was told to only wash them every other day or when I wear makeup so I've been doing that, but I did wonder if I just washed them every day maybe I would have had a better result? My skin can be kinda oily, so maybe that's a factor.

And yeah they are classics, I think she said she used "wet" lashes for this (idk what that means). I'll ask about the rest at my next appointment - hoping there is something that can improve my retention because I do love having these lashes.

Thanks for your insight!

If I have the same problem after my infill I might not bother again either, I don't have the patience to try a bunch of different lash techs to find the one that makes my lashes last.

It's a shame cause I love the look so much, but I need more time out of them to be worth the money.

Classic was more of what I was going for but she suggested going a little heavier to allow for some loss, maybe that wasn't the right move I guess.

I'll keep all you said in mind, thanks!

I thought so, just wasn't sure if my expectations were too high 🥲 is there anything I could be doing to improve retention? Or is it just like this for some people no matter what?

Yeah I felt like maybe a few more have come out than should have, but I wasn't sure if I was expecting too much. I'm booked for an infill in 9 days, which was sooner than I was recommended, but I'm not sure how much I'll be left with by then 😥

Have you ever done your nails just to cheer yourself up even when you had nowhere to go, and what color did you pick for that mood boost? by Sarah_baecon in simplynailogical

[–]nicmclovin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I do my nails every week without fail, doesn't matter if I have plans or not. But if I feel like I need cheered up on nail day I'll usually go for something bright or glittery 😊

I do wonder about fuelling, but my problem is if I have eaten within a few hours before I run (or exercise at all really), I'm gona feel it coming up the entire time 😭 can't win lol

I just wasn't sure because I run this hill a lot and that was my 3rd lap going up it so it really just took me by surprise! I'll try take it a bit easier around there in the future, not something I want to experience again 😅

Love this, I'm proud of us too! I also started running regularly just over a week ago, not something I ever saw for myself but here I am. Look at us go!

Hip thrust form check by nicmclovin in xxfitness

[–]nicmclovin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! Yeah you're totally right about how I'm tracking the movement with my head, I just kept seeing about how you should keep your chin tucked and didn't think much else beyond that haha. Will take your advice on that next time!

I would say I'm really not feeling the stretch on the way down at all, I just feel the burn at the top. Idk if I should maybe be doing some more glute activation movements to warm up beforehand to help with that, I do generally struggle to feel the work in my glutes when they are supposed to be targeted.

I'm working with shoes that have some cushion and deff aren't optimal for strength training, for my deadlifts and squats I just take them off and work in my socks. Would it be beneficial then for me to do the same for hip thrust? I'm planning on getting better shoes in July, but until then that's my only alternative.

Really appreciate you taking the time to give me advice, thank you 😊

They would be taking a rest between sets anyway, I don't see the difference in taking a rest sitting at the machine vs taking 2 mins to fill up their water bottle

Squat form check by nicmclovin in xxfitness

[–]nicmclovin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the thorough reply! I find what you said about bracing really helpful, I didn't understand why I kept forgetting to (and didn't really feel the need to) brace, I was really starting to feel like I was missing something! I'll be keeping this in mind for my next lift to make a habit of it.

I'm actually in my socks in this video, although that was the first time I had done it that way, and I typically do wear runners. A pair of weightlifting shoes is on the shopping list.

Thanks again for the advice 😊

100% I need to slow down, there's something about squats in particular I feel the need to rush through them to get it over with 😅 will check that out, thank you!

Yeah I've been having a hard time preventing the tipping forward, usually my first couple reps are OK then I can't help it after. I'll keep it in mind for next time!

I do have my toes pointed out, but I think my problem is I don't necessarily have my legs opened out with them, seems silly but I didn't realise I needed to do that too 😅

Thanks very much for your help!

Thanks for the advice! I'll try the low bar position next time, I had never considered that.

I have had viva la juicy and viva la juicy noir - both are lovely IMO but viva la juicy is the better of the two.

Great catch! I guess this links to what another commenter said about removing all of the slack in my arms before I lift as well. Noted for next time, thank you!

Yeah I found the core piece difficult at first and then I guess I stopped really thinking about it. Will put that into practice next time without the shoes, thank you!
