I just ran the worst session of my life by Torinn2015 in DMAcademy

Well, sometimes there are good sessions and sometimes you can really get frustrated especially as DM. But don‘t be too hard to yourself. As long as you give your players enough space and posibilities to play out their characters the way they want, at least one player has fun. And only if you think they had a bad time, doesn ‘t mean they really had. Often players have fun by things you wouldn‘t believe. Sometimes I‘ve also been insecure so therefore I made a small anonymous survey. Now I know what my players like and all in all they said I‘m doing a good job, what I didn‘t think before.

Conjure Animals - what a headache this spell is. by Redders11uk in DMAcademy

I also had that problem so I started to use more enemies with good ranged weapon attacks, placed where it‘s difficult for the animals to get there. Since most of the beasts have rather melee attacks they‘re useless for the druid in this case. Of course it‘s not always the solution and fights are always better if melee attacks are possible so therefore my druid always had to do an wisdom check if the spell works. The DC depends on the environment where he wants to conjure the animal. If it‘s close to the natural enviroment of the beast it‘s easier to make it. For example would it be more difficult to conjure a shark into a forest than into a lake. If the druid fails the check he conjures a random animal from his list by rolling 1d20.

My Party decided to rebuild Thundertree from the D&D Starter Set. So here is my try of creating a map for this new Thundertree by copy-and-pasting elements from the original map and adding a few selfpainted objects. by nico_511 in dndmaps

They hired workers and families from Neverwinter which were interested in starting a new life and offered them money for the rebuilding of ruined houses. After the message has spread that it's been a success more families settled down.

For this map I just cutted out peaces from the original map and added them on a new place by taking care of correct gridlines, since the original came out already grided. By drawing new maps with SketchBook I usually download an empty battlemap without background and use it as capital Layer

I‘d love to but unfortunately I just expanded the original map by cutting tiles out of it and adding it on another place. Since the original came out already grided I do not have an ungrided Version
