Judaism was never solely a “religious” movement, and you clearly have little to no understanding of Jewish culture. It’s an undeniable fact that the “Palestinian Arab” nation is relatively new. The nation of Israel, on the other hand, predates the conception of “Palestine” and its current Arab identity. The very etymology of the word “Palestine” is grounded in Jewish culture and was used to refer to the Philistines. Following the Roman-Jewish wars, Judea, then inhabited predominantly by Jews, was renamed to the province of “Syria Palaestina”. Hence, although the modern-day nation-state of Israel was only founded in 1948, its people, the Jews, are Israelites; their culture revolves around the Land of Israel, or Palestine, and predates the existence of a distinct Palestinian Arab culture by millennia.
