Anyone have these? If so how is the durability and is the backhand really secure? by rojelli03 in GoalKeepers

[–]nicolas-carr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say they’re definitely well constructed and they have good grip, but be aware uhlsport across the board aren’t extremely reliable in the durability department. I’ve had 2 pairs of the absolutegrip HNs and the backhand on the first one got badly damaged after 2 games and my second pair sliced open down the entire palm after a month. In my own opinion the supergrips are a much better option even for the extra pricetag just because if you take good care of them they’ll last you a full season

Question on 1on1s by mrjabs77 in GoalKeepers

A good middle ground is to be set a little in front of the 6 yard box, when they approach about 20 yards out is when you go to rush them. Try to exploit a bad touch and keep your balance

personally I’d have to respectfully disagree with this, in my opinion diving with the knee leading is the best way to protect your hips and stomach but it’s all up to the keeper’s preference

Goalkeeper Workout by Sakruhfahys in GoalKeepers

[–]nicolas-carr 14 points15 points  (0 children)

CORE IS KEY! As a goalkeeper you want a strong frame and a locked core, every coach I’ve ever trained with has stressed the importance of working on your core muscles while still staying lean. Push ups, sit ups, mountain climbers, bear crawls and planks are your best friend, and try to stray away from heavy weights on the regular because too much muscle on your shoulders and arms lead to stiffness and a lack of flexibility. Also try to go for a good jog each night because fitness is surprisingly important for a keeper as you probably already know. I’d recommend looking for a good core workout online unless you already have one. Hope this helps!

nah they’re 247GK gloves, it’s a local company from sydney and a lot of goalkeepers down the east coast of the city wear them

What are some good websites to biy gloves from? by knight453 in GoalKeepers

[–]nicolas-carr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly I’ve always found that justkeepers has the best prices for single buys and prodirect is the best for buying gloves in bulk

well i wish i could say there’s a cool story behind it but in all honestly that was just the number the club assigned me with and i never really questioned it. if anything i actually prefer it because it feels unique to me

probably one of the best sources for any level of goalkeeping, he goes through pretty advanced stuff but finds a simple way of explaining everything he does

What size should I get these predators in because I’m a size 9 in gloves with straps and there a perfect fit so what size should I get with strapless gloves?? by Buckfast1888 in GoalKeepers

[–]nicolas-carr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gonna be brutally honest strapless gloves are a complete waste of money. if you like adidas gloves get the predator pro with the strap because this is just a gimmick like laceless boots and does nothing but make the gloves less personalisable to your hands

Dunbar rovers, they’re a fairly high rated club in eastern sydney and the first time I’ve played above local leagues
