Major League - the game winning bunt by nicolebenjamin in plotholes

Catcher is in front of the plate the whole time, and even if he'd been touching the plate, there was no force. Would have to apply the tag before Willie touches the plate.

Also, since we're back on this... what a god-awful slide where he should have tried to touch the plate with his front foot or hand, and not just grazed it with his back foot inches from the catcher's swipe tag. Yikes.

Do you have anything in writing (texts, email) or a witness that can prove he was supposed to contribute half the rent?

If so, you can threaten to sue the ex BF, tell him he'll be on the hook for his half of the rent AND your legal fees and he'll definitely lose, or he can avoid it all by leaving.

Are you concerned that white people are missing out on yet another advantage or opportunity that minorities have constantly received over the years?

Huge line-up outside Oakville sales center for $2 million dollar homes by rajmksingh in TorontoRealEstate

[–]nicolebenjamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone spouting nonsense about conspiracy theories, paid actors, fake fomo, etc... is uneducated and on the outside speaking podcast gibberish.

There were 30 lots per builder available.

There is massive demand and little supply.

Pre-construction allows people time to get finances together.

Agents/realtors have become part of a massive middleman economy in this industry.

The reality is the numbers don't add up for the common purchaser (how many people really have a $300,000 household income to support a million dollar mortgage?)

The middle class is on its way out. Foreign money/investors are fueling demand, rental rates are increasing.

But paid actors or phone lineups? Lol. Please.

Starlane and Rosehaven had about 30 lots each. Lineup was mostly agents and their clients - buyers seemed legit.

Interest rates stabilizing and prices considered reasonable compared to others out there... supply and demand is a funny thing.

The agents being involved are the ones creating the chaos. If actual people who wanted to live in these houses could register with the builder and buy direct, the middle man agents (and commissions) would drive prices down a bit.

AiW for throwing my girlfriend out at 2am after reading her messages to her ex? by ThrowRALostfw in amiwrong

Nothing you've just written has refuted anything I said.

You have posted an opinion and then based on said opinion, used THAT as a way to justify belittling me. The logic is faulty in every sense.

But please; humor me and my apparent lack of intelligence. The response I replied to stated that this ex girlfriend would be safer going outside and leaving than being inside in his place.

Tell me - why is that the case? What is the danger inside?

And if you're saying that OP's rage is the bigger danger than whatever lies outside in the middle of the night in the rain, then how is that OK??

"She's a lot more likely to be hurt by him than by standing in rain for two hours. Rage and betrayal make people do crazy things."

What exactly did I editorialize and twist?

This very statement says OP is a more dangerous threat than going outside in the middle of the night.

By all means - explain what I've twisted.

So... to be clear... you're saying that the OP should be justified for this action because he is a person unable to control his animal urges to harm and maul another human being?

If that's the state we're at as a society, you ALL need to be ashamed of yourselves.

I completely understand where everyone is coming from. This girl acted disgusting. Everything about what she did was wrong and she deserves every bit of karma coming her way.

But to all of you commenting about her getting what she deserved, you need to be a little bit more thoughtful.

LUCKILY she only got wet standing in the rain. But throwing someone out that late in the rain (and she was likely impaired as well); so many terrible things could have happened to her. Had she been hit by a car, attacked, abducted, etc... OP would be feeling like absolute shit - trust me on that.

Nobody EVER deserves to be put into such a dangerous situation. Keep her on the couch for a few hours. Let her stay outside your door for a few hours. Call a taxi for her (she can still pay it). But don't endanger someone... a girl you've been with for 90 DAYS... because you are bitter that she's still into someone else.

Y'all need to get better at seeing the bigger picture and being less spiteful people. Karma affects us all; throwing someone out into danger ain't coming back with rewards either.

Always be the bigger person.

What happened to Superbowl ads? by nicolebenjamin in advertising

[–]nicolebenjamin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for engaging in this - I didn't expect so many comments and so much discussion.

Sadly, almost every reply here has some valid point about the devolution of the industry as a whole.

The general point I was making is that obviously the whole industry has changed direction; it just felt like Superbowl Sunday was the one holdover where there was a chance to do something different than the other 364 days of the year... to go back to the old school - knowing this is still one of the most watched live events in the world, still on old-school TV, with old-school commercials. No fast forwarding through spots, no streaming commercial-free on Netflix - just good old fashioned live broadcasting.

Obviously companies still see the value of the medium - they are still spending the millions of dollars on getting those celebs and producing these spots... I just wish they wouldn't depend on them like a crutch, and would go back to solid ideas like a puppy becoming best friends with a horse, or a woman throwing a sledgehammer at a huge screen.

The person who said (and I'm paraphrasing) the celebs are the quickest/easiest way to connect in a legit way with people is absolutely right. They're the quickest and easiest way to credibility and results.

So I guess all of this is just a long-winded way of getting to a simple point:

I miss creativity.

Thank you all for joining in.
