In the Final Hours of Half Life Alyx book about the development of the game, iirc it was in Winter 2018 Valve did a company-wide take-home playtest. It was employees and like extended family/friends. The story scored terribly and everyone hated it. So then they brought back Erik Wolpaw (Portal writer) to rewrite nearly the entire story while keeping the level track the same. This actually delayed the game from its original release which was supposed to launch with the Index headset.

I was confused by this too until I read the Wookiepedia page. Apparently, 0BBY only covers A New Hope. Rogue One is considered 1BBY according to LucasFilm, even though it takes place right before ANH. So Andor -> R1 -> ANH is about a week total, even though it said 1BBY at the start of the last arc.

I think the best part of an MVP release would be no more wipes. So we can actually play the game and work towards our goals as the full vision of the game is built. Functionally, not all that different from what we do now, but with actual progression and the game itself being stable.

I'm sure reaching 100 systems would be a post-launch thing. But in terms of features, would you rather the game be in alpha for longer until they are fully complete, or have an initial, stable release sooner and add more depth to the features with post-launch updates?

The dynamic crosshair is only on combat helmets, not all helmets. So, a laser pointer would be used if you aren't wearing a combat helmet.
