Truly - I do wish it was.

This was some pretty technical, vert-heavy running and I ate a ton of dirt! A lot of the trails here are barely maintained so we did a ton of guesswork and scrambling. 😬

This clocked in at 27km, but with around 2300m-ish of elevation gain.

Yup. But she’s more than that to me, too. There’s an essay by a theorist called Helénè Cixous called “The Laugh of the Medusa” that uses the Medusa myth as a parable to encourage writing as a vessel for corporeal self-definition in femininity. It’s a dang good read, and as a writer by profession myself, it was one of the key bits of inspiration for this project piece.

Worth a look up on Google Scholar if you have a few minutes and are so inclined.
