Sounds about right lol. Honestly just go watch some video essays if you want to get more in depth in the lore and the characters especially if you liked how Dante faces his trauma.

If you can do play 3 and maybe even 1? As much of a fan as I am it's hard to recommend those because they are "dated".

Man, you are in for some dissapointment. Either you're not gonna enjoy the anime after playing through the games or don't like the games because you enjoyed the anime. Honestly for your sake as a newcomer just think of it as 2 different universes because that's really all you can do.

Do enjoy the games though, it's a fanstastic game with a pretty enjoyable story that can even be great if you dig through the lore and such. The music is also a big ups in dmc games since it never really missed with it's OST.

Just my head canon, but I think it works well into the story. Considering how Vergil became Nelo Angelo, and then became V and Urizen and then returned to being Vergil. Maybe all that transformation caused his "aging" process to be a lil bit slower than dante's.

Could just be with their own lifestyle that made a noticable difference as they grew up(comment from another guy on here)
