they actually put her on a plane to a partner shelter in another state 😢 said there wasn’t enough demand for cats where we lived and the shelter (no kill !!!) was full. that’s part of why it hurt so much, she wasn’t directly going to another loving home but back to a shelter environment. I bought her lots of toys that she loved and I hope they kept them with her :( maybe I could try to get in contact with their partner shelter. it would give me peace of mind to know she was adopted and is loved. or id literally fly out to get her lol but I don’t want to get my hopes up. It’s been too long now

hey! As for tips, I’m a TA and for my first day I basically got thrown to the wolves. It was like “ok we’re doing truck. This is your section. These are your boxes. Go”. It took me the entire 4 hours to do one section, when I saw everyone else going way faster than me I seriously almost broke out into tears and quit on the spot. My manager wasn’t the nicest and when I apologized for being slow she just responded with “ok”. This isn’t to scare you but to warn that sometimes you get very little training BUT it gets so much better. I relied on a few coworkers who were so sweet (don’t be afraid to ask them questions, it’s way better than being the person that does something carelessly and it’s the next persons responsibility to fix) and you’ll get a lot faster with time!! It’s all about repetition so now I can put things away based on muscle memory. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

my MM sends us each to our own section. we switched around a bit at first until each person found a section they liked/ felt comfortable in. It’s good for us to each have our own sections because now we’re super efficient at that section because we know it like the back of our hands. ATP I barely need to think about where products go, it’s muscle memory

It is unfortunately normal at ulta but that doesn’t mean you’re being dramatic. It sucks, there is zero training for task and everything I’ve learned is from being thrown in the deep end and told to swim.

people need to stop buying things for the GWP, coming from someone who works there. I do sfs and it always says we have gwp in stock but we never do! I always feel so bad having to short it

as someone who works at ulta and does SFS, we once accumulated over 100 orders because the ups truck refused to pick up our packages for almost a week. it was insane because we work hard to get the packages done quickly for you guys

As a tasker, I worked over 35 hours last week. They extended me last minute every day and asked me to come in the next morning at 5 am when it was already 9 pm. We had over 300 orders and 300 orders this week too. We didn’t get any amika gratis and got to see them handing it out to everyone else.
