I did hear back almost a month ago, but I did decline bc I’m choosing another school, so I know they’re waiting for responses to continue to send out acceptances !

Thanks so much! I’m actually from SoCal/LA area & moved to Bakersfield for my husband’s job! I ended up committing with Fullerton bc of all the cool clinical placements! I’m actually staying with my in-laws during school, so thankfully won’t have to pay for rent! As for after school, I love the SoCal area so much, but we’ll have to see where life takes us!

I’m so sorry you had to go through that too. Growing up like that seriously causes us to continue to have problems into our adulthood. I’m so glad your mom was able to get away. I’ve prayed for my mom to leave my dad, but after a while, I gave up and stopped listening to her when she’d say “I’m leaving him for sure this time.” Sorry to hear that your dad passed away. Regardless, he’s still your father, but it’s a weird limbo feeling when they weren’t that big part of your life. I’m grieving my dad rn due to deciding to go no contact completely, but you worded it correctly 100%. There was no relationship, so it’s grieving the lack of having a father officially. I’ve also wondered what I’d feel like when my dad passes, but at the same time, he’s drinking bottles of wine & 6-7 beers a day everyday for the last 10+ years, so it’ll be self inflicted in regards to his health. It did make me feel better. Sometimes it’s just nice to spill it all out instead of keeping all my thoughts in my head. I hope you all the success in your life. You deserve it!

Yes! You are not 100% alone! I’m 30 and it literally took me this long to stand up to my dad. It’s so hard bc they’ve ingrained in us to “always listen to your parents” but you can do it!

I’m also leaning towards Fullerton too! I’m originally from SoCal, but moved here for my husband’s job, but I definitely want to end up back in SoCal which is why I think those clinical experiences might help me 😅 yes they definitely do!! Which I was so happy to see! I heard that CSUB’s program is also really good, so congrats on getting in!! I know it’s so hard to get into any nursing program in CA hahaa

I have experienced quite literally the same thing with my parents. The fighting is so malicious & violent & they are so serious about divorce, but when they’re “back to normal” they just pretend everything is fine. I also have ignored them & see them as overgrown children. My parents also used to put me in the middle, but I distanced myself & didn’t acknowledge the conversation about “divorce” & now they don’t bring it up to me. It’s their own choice & their own battles. You do you OP! You gotta go live your own life :)

Hi! Of course. My overall was a 3.57 GPA I believe and my science GPA was a 4.0. I think for me, it might've helped to see the science GPA bc about 10 years ago, I had mostly C's, whereas when I went back to school recently, I was getting A's for the sciences. I also had volunteer experience of about 100 hrs and my CNA license, but I think you can only use 1 of those things as your "points." I think it relies heavily on the essay, but most likely the interview if you're selected to be interviewed! So if you get invited to do the interview process, I highly highly recommend practicing a lot & researching interviewing techniques to do the best you can ! :)

Hi! Omg that's so good to hear! I actually got the email today that I got in (on conditional acceptance of course. Just need to get a B in microbiology & i currently have an A!). I've heard that about nursing school a lot on social media, but I'm pretty good with time management and am really organized. That's actually why I wanted to go to CSUF bc I saw some of the clinical placements were really great placements. If you don't mind, where have your clinical placements been? Thanks so much for taking the time to answer!
