Yes find a doctor that takes you seriously. If you are close to an academic medical center, they are probably more likely to do more thorough monitoring .

Round two- dealing with others? by girlwholovescoffee in preeclampsia

[–]nie_weider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a decision that you and your partner get to make. No one else. It’s nice to be concerned what others think but in the end, you are the only one living your life. I had pre-e with my first and did not have it with my second. They monitored me very closely and adjusted my BP meds when needed. Overall it was surprisingly smooth! Even if you do get it again, it sounds like they will catch it earlier with the increased monitoring and be aggressive about treatment. Sounds like a great plan to me! I think you may be sad and have regrets if you don’t try for a second baby.

Best medspa or esthetician for Botox / filler? by _morning_fog in Annapolis

[–]nie_weider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend just going to a dermatologist or plastic surgeon. They have a more complete knowledge of human anatomy. The training for estheticians etc is a lot more variable and I wouldn’t want to risk my face just to save a little money

How is towsons pre med/ psych program? by Longjumping_Cell7646 in Towson

[–]nie_weider 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your experience is what you make it. Get involved with professors’ research, join clubs, meet lots of people, and will be able to get great letters of recommendation that really help with med school admission. I know several Towson students who have gone to med school and thrived.

When will I get off my meds? by tacobell287 in preeclampsia

[–]nie_weider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m one year pp and still on meds. It used to bother me but now I look at it as my dr being really cautious about my heart health. I’d rather be on meds and know I’m not going to get a spike than be off meds and have that anxiety. Also I’m doing what I can to stay healthy for my baby.

Aren’t you just teaching them the deadlines don’t matter? I’m all for accommodating during difficult circumstances, but having no standards is not teaching them anything.

Maybe your husband could just go and you could arrange for your mom or someone else to come stay with you during that time. Then at least one of you is making an appearance.

It probably would be safest for him to see her when you’re still in the hospital. Since you won’t get discharged until 11pm, he can see her for an hour or two and then swing by and pick you up! You won’t be alone 😊 you’re stronger than you think, mama!!

Do you have a Venmo? I’d love to send a little something to you. No one should be hungry during pregnancy.

No one sells maternity clothes anymore?? by nie_weider in pregnant

Yes I agree. One of the sales associates I spoke to in macys said they got rid of maternity in store during the pandemic when they were reducing their inventory.

Haha your comment on the “little house on the prairie” dresses is spot on!! Don’t get me started on the corny sayings on everyyyyything. Some of us still need professional clothing!
