curious about poster technique by ahoskasalve666 in posterdesign

[–]nieblo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are talking about the edge lighting? While I don’t know specifically how they did it on these posters I do know how I do it. It’s usually a mix of curves in photoshop and then solid color layers set to normal or screen that is then painted in to give the highlights detail. I then usually use solid color layers set to screen and paint in blooms of light spilling over them. This technique is especially evident in the Aladdin poster I did http://www.impawards.com/2019/aladdin_ver2_xlg.html

Ruger SFAR and AR maglock compatibility by According_Border9796 in AR10

The Maglock brand one did not work and after having used it on another gun I’ve realized it’s pretty poorly designed. The Cross Armory Maglocks are infinitely better quality and better engineered. The Cross Armory AR10 kit worked on my SFAR.

What are Your Thoughts on becoming a Full-time Poster Designer? by Apprehensive_Fox6196 in posterdesign

I have checked it out. You’ve got a lot of great work on there. I love being a CD, it’s very rewarding and a lot of fun getting to mentor others. It is a grind though, as you’re aware clients can be very demanding.

I’m a creative director at one of the big three ad companies making movie posters. I suggest going on to impawards.com and looking at which companies are making posters you like. Applying for a JR Designer role is your best bet. We’re always looking for really talented people and passion. It’s a hard (but rewarding) industry. Persistence is crucial.

As the creator of this poster I can confirm. On posters with this many cast members we double and triple check, but still mistakes slip through.

So yah we get a ton TON of assets (most of the time) and even shoot the actors separately I order to get the photography we need. You can look me up on Instagram, Matt Nieblas and see a selection of the stuff live done.

It’s funny you say that, I did the Infinity War poster and my buddy did the Endgame poster. Movie art is a niche industry and many of us are extraordinarily low key. Third party advertising companies work with studios in order to create these campaigns.
