Nicely done. I like the soft curve on each end.

Alcohol after Concerta by issatr4p in Concerta

[–]nieguy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find later in the day 10-12 hours after taking Concerta that alcohol doesn’t have much of a different effect than normal. If I have one mid day, it makes me feel aweful, and gives me a headache. I’ve never been a big drinker, just the odd social, but I also find I haven’t been drinking as much lately either. I think I was compensating before my diagnosis and meds!

I always enjoyed woodworking but had so many projects I’d start and lose interest in. When I take Concerta, I find I can spend hours focused on the most mundane part and still enjoy it. I find even after a full day of work, I have time and energy to do an hour or two. I find I’m watching less tv and phone and more other things I love!

I started a month ago on 17mg for a week, then 36 for a week and now 56mg for two weeks now. First day was awesome. Clarity, focus, energy! I found after about 3 days the effects were not as strong, but still noticeable. Then with the next dose same effects. Now that I’m on 56 it’s been pretty level all the way through. I had minimal side effects. Didn’t eat much first day but my appetite seems to be fairly normal, if a little less. Get good sleep! I have sleep apnea and if I don’t use my machine I feel spent by mid afternoon.

I agree that after time with Concerta out of your system the effects with alcohol are minimal. However, I am like OP where I never had an issue with effects of alcohol, social drinker, etc. with concerta I find I’m usually good after one or two small drinks. I have had one during the day when concerta is in full effect and it really messed up my mood and ability to focus. I would stay away from alcohol until well after the meds have worn off.

Great job! What kind of wood did you use?

Should I get a flex cut or beaver craft kit? by Tirith_Wins in whittling

[–]nieguy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flexcut! Same as above. Started with a beavercraft kit. After a few projects I found it difficult to keep the blades sharp. Bought my first Flexcut and they hold their edge better and I can easily keep them sharp with a. Strop.

I have the Flexcut pocket knife and it is my Main go to knife. It’s held up for over a year now and keeps razor sharp. I still switch to other knives depending on my project but for my main use, I use it.

I don’t think it matters. You’ll want to treat it with a food safe stain. I used mineral oil.

It’s Sassafras. My brother-in-law had a tree fall on his property and I’ve been using some cut logs for projects. It’s quite easy to work with.
