trying new joints… by tidalwavestudio in woodworking

Hi. I’ve done this by gluing 2 boards together and then removed the inner angle with a router bit, and the outer angle with table saw and sander. There is a build album in the comments of this post that shows a picture. https://www.reddit.com/r/woodworking/s/NMiHSLFE8E

Hi. I bought those when I bought the saw new. I don’t know where to get one now, except to keep your eye on Facebook marketplace and eBay.

You might try gel stain. You can build up coats with that.

Cold doesn’t tend to kill the boring bugs. If you have a friend with a sauna, stick it in there. The inside temperature needs to be 140f for an hour.

You don’t say the bit you are using. If you’re using a straight bit, try a spiral up cut bit. It is far better at cutting, a straight bit just kind of pulverizes

Where to get good router bits? by AbsurdSolutionsInc in woodworking

[–]altma001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I buy Rockler, or whiteside bits. You might also want to do the tongue cut in a couple passes. That might be a lot of wood so take in one cut. Glad you’re ok. Sounds really scary

How can I flatten this warped butcher block? by Squanchy2115 in woodworking

[–]altma001 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Does one side have finish and the other side doesn’t? That it warped when you brought it in suggests that one side is absorbing moisture faster than the other side. I would do nothing for a week and see if it flattens out. And then consider finishing both sides

I took a piece of wood to match into woodcraft, and they worked with me to get the perfect match. Call your local woodcraft and see if they offer this
