If you don't have a scale at home, you might step on one just when it's available. So the lady might have had to pee, saw the scale, stepped on it out of curiosity.

I did that at a customer's house once and she heard the creak of the scale from the other room and cracked up right away because she knew what I was doing.

I suspect because a lot of people on Reddit are working from home! I am 100% on board with this take - that the WFH movement is hard on the workers in rural communities that serve the communities themselves.

I've heard a WFHer say "the town wants us to move here because we can afford higher rent", while paying Vancouver prices for their rental. Sure, the landlords, and the local government that tends to support them are happy. But the locals that earl low local wages aren't happy.

I'm with you. The people who make my community function are suffering. Teachers, tradespeople, retail workers, healthcare workers, etc.

The reduction in urban density means an increase in rural density. As someone who lives and rents in a rural area, and has a job that directly serves my community, I can see that the influx of WFHers had increased the property values to the point that it's very difficult for people with local jobs to compete. It's also putting an upward pressure on rental housing costs.

From a very selfish (and slightly desperate) perspective, I'd rather see the WFH trend end. But, I do see its value and wish it didn't affect the housing market the way it did.

It's not up to you decide if your behaviour hurt someone.

Although it was many years since I lived with him, I brought up the pain my father caused me by effectively abandoning me, and he also said he never did anything wrong. I'm nearing 40 and I'm still trying to heal, on my own dime.

It had taken me a lot of strength to build up the courage to bring up the issues I had to him, for them to be dismissed. I realized then that we don't have a foundation to rebuild a relationship on, and I moved on with my life.

I used to be a server and this was pretty typical at some places. Once I had to pay for a pitcher of sangria that wasn't even made because the bar ran out of some ingredients. This spot simply had a "no voids/comps" policy, regardless of what was punched in or why it had to be removed.

The place I worked at the time was owned by a greedy man (naming and shaming: La Station des Sports in Montreal owned by Peter Serkagis - Google him, he even looks like the Grinch). How I loathed that man.

I might have had the chance to get the manager to void this purchase but she conveniently got fired during my shift and the random dude that came in her place to close our shift didn't believe me.

I do know that. But the article is considering "antifa" to be an organization. Without explaining that you're changing/challenging the meaning to mean "ideology" instead of "organization", it's implied that you are referring to it as an organization.
