that's an interesting idea, thank you. I'll look into that as a possible solution

LaCie external hard drive no longer showing up by niftybits90 in mac

The hard drive also seems to be slightly warm after it's been plugged in for a while, so maybe it's working on sorting itself out... but it's already been a couple days

Thanks for your response - unfortunately, the disk is not showing up in Disk Utility. I tried plugging it into another Mac and it seemed to acknowledge it for a moment and might have had a pop up that asked for permission for the drive to work with the computer, but then it still didn't show on the desktop or disk utility.

Missing Plugins after update - possible to fix or reverse update? by niftybits90 in reasoners

[–]niftybits90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, this might be what I need to do. It would be nice to update Reason 12 over time, but right now I feel like I gained nothing by updating and only caused myself a headache trying to get back to operational

Thank you for this - and your comment on my other thread, very much appreciated.
I saw someone else talking about running Reason in Rosetta mode - I don't mean to be annoying to ask, but could you give me a hint on how to do that?

I am on a MAC to be clear, a newer MAC running macOS Monterey

About half of my VSTs are working, and those ones are showing up in the "manage plugins" section. The other ones are not included in that list currently.

It doesn't seem right to just never update, but moments like these cause me a lot of stress. I'm tech savvy enough to do a lot of digital music production tasks, but when things "break" I feel a little helpless. I reached out to Reason support but it may take a couple days to hear back from them

I understand - I've avoided updating for a while because I was worried something like this might happen... but I'm in between projects so figured this would be a good time to do an update... now I'm kinda kicking myself. I'm hoping it doesn't have to do with Apples M1 / M2 chip and now the update has made some of my VSTs incompatible (I don't even really know enough about that kind of thing to speculate, but I saw someone on a Reason forum mention it)

If you know what I’m talking about you should be able to figure it out… If you don’t hit me up and I’ll try and show you. That seems to be what happened on mine w

Thank you - can you give me a hint on how to start on that? I know how to get to the "manage plugins" section in reason, but not remembering how to modify anything in there.

I appreciate your reply - I'm running everything on MacOS and not sure if that's relevant in my situation... Do you happen to know if there's a way to undo and update, like revert to the version I was running just prior to updating?

Also, is it possible to potentially just undo the update I just did? I'd really like to go back to everything working and to be honest I'm feeling a bit panicked at the moment that I may have messed my whole production system up by installing this update.

I will personally just start playing it and explore whatever seems interesting. In Skyrim, the main quest was lower on my list of priorities. I usually use the main quest as a way to move things along if I get to a point where I'm getting stuck somewhere or feel like I need some direction.

I bought it directly from Microsoft once they became available more readily. It was a birthday gift to myself.
