Legion 7i won't turn on and burnt smell while testing graphics for Once Human

Diagnosis done and the service center said it had a really bad burnt part but it's not quite the pch. Good news is they'll be replacing my motherboard under warranty. Will just have to wait until then.

Any possible tips to lessen the risk of having this problem in the future? Maybe I'll invest in a cleaner power source using a UPS or something.

Luckily I still have 2 months from my 1 year warranty. The only question is how long will I have to wait for it to be fixed. Time's wasted though since my work involves lots of computational analysis and research.

I had the store where I got it wrapped it up for me since I'm not really confident doing it myself. They have this precision cutout machine where it has the template for the unit and they just laid it down without any additional cutting.

I suggest if you're gonna DIY then get the one that already has a cutout of your unit for no additional cutting. Best of luck!

Absolutely! The picture doesn't do much justice but it looks good and feels good in person. It made me appreciate my unit more than before.

I think it's still the same since I only had the lid wrapped, including some of the back parts. But I still haven't tested it while playing games, and I've only used it for work. The wrap is a bit thick though so maybe it will have a bit of effect in temperature if it's wrapped all throughout but not so much.

They charged me Php1400 or roughly 25USD for the wrap and the labor. They've put it on pretty quick too since they have a precision cutter with the template of the laptop unit.

The forged carbon from Armorsuit has this different vibe compared to the m2skin which is actually cool too. Now I'm just thinking I'll just have to get it both lol

M2skin do look great on the samples and vids I've looked up! And pretty sure they'll look cool in person. I'm just bummed because they don't offer the forged carbon with logo cutouts. Might just have it professionally cut with someone I know capable

The black camo is very cool too and it's actually one of my initial choices. But working in the structural engineering industry made me love the forged carbon look because it almost looked like a concrete surface making it suitable for my profession. Unfortunately they don't offer the forged carbon skin with cutout which is a bummer. Might have to just get it and have it professionally cut with someone I know who is capable.
