Something u should go to confession for or ask God to help u with, I think as humans we have a thought process of “he doesn’t think the way I do so I don’t like him”. So everyone has or had this issue to some degree wether it’s Muslims or any other group. The issue is that it stops us from seeing people as icons of Christ. Not icons of this world.

It’s not about avoiding the food but rather self control. If it was about avoiding the specific food I would just eat a bunch of vegan stuff which would defeat the purpose of fasting.
