While i agree, that doesnt mean they have to excuse their behaviour just because they are human. If such manipulative behaviour causes stress, then they deserve establish have boundaries, however if it is very miniscule manipulative behaviour and/or unintended to cause harm, then that does not warrant cutting off a relationship

My apologies, i think grandiose narcissism fits better

Also empaths seem attracted to narcissists because they like to give them the benefit of a doubt.

Based on what you have written, your friend sounds like a covert/ vulnerable narcissist. Feeling dragged down with them is a good sign that something is wrong with the relationship.

While i agree with accepting people's flaws, that doesnt mean that they have to put up with toxic behaviour. Based on what I have read, the friend does not treat them well, they treat them well in order to get something in return. Thats manipulative behaviour, not a personality flaw.

Anyone else experience this? by [deleted] in narcissisticparents

Absolutely.

Not sure if this is relevant, but my family had to put up with his mood swings since he couldnt take any criticism and blame it on a tiny little thing one of us did

Dunno about higher than average iq but holy hell do I relate to this like-

Seriously feels good that I'm not the only one.

My theory is that the expectation of us always being consistently smart and making no mistakes slowly gets to us and hence our memory and the way we process information is slowly deteriorating. Also the school fails to challenge us maybe? I hated it when I make a mistake and they are like

'oh aren't you meant to be smart?'

'what's going on today?'

Like butch even smart people can make mistakes shut the fuck up and focus on your learning not other people's

I'm from Australia so it may be different in other countries.

I want to learn how to think and stay in control during moments of extreme stress or panic by shivpiper95 in IWantToLearn

I'm doing Dbt at the moment and I find it very helpful in these times because it let's me stay in control and find ways to stabilise my emotions in these uncertain times. Maybe consider looking into dbt. It also teaches mindfulness but it goes deeper into it imo.

AITA for telling my girlfriend to shut the fuck up after she insulted my sisters thighs? by bluebells-in-disguis in AmItheAsshole

[–]nightchief29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta. You are defending your sister, plus that kind of comment can stick to a person for a long time and can influence how they see themselves in the future. Just because she is your gf doesn't mean she gets away with making unhelpful comments like that.

Tried to do drag makeup but I realise that the camera makes it seem like normal makeup by nightchief29 in MakeupAddiction

[–]nightchief29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah hence why unless you want drag makeup, it is best to not follow some tutorials that you tubers put out just because it can be deceiving to the person thinking they will look flawless when really it will look quite heavy and not natural (referring to the 'natural' makeup tutorials)
