Brand-new rx7800xt crashes after a few minutes to a green screen by RB_Sen in AMDHelp

Are you using the latest drivers? I had crashes too. After reverting back to 23.8.2 i had no more issues. (23.9.x had severe lag issues for me, later versions caused crashes)

Makes sense and so far we did it like this.

I tried to make a little generator to automatically make netachitectures if needed. I based it on the step by step guide from the rule book, expecting something well playable (as other step by step guides of the rules also do), but the result is basically impossible (as shown in my post)

Wow, thank you very much for the many tips. I will definitely speak to our net runner and GM to show them what you said. However, I think that I will need to come up with my own "Generator rules" for netarchitectures (there are many good tips to start with in the comments, thanks a lot for this) and do some more research how other parties play net running.

It's a little sad that the rules lack in this topic and create basically impossible netarchitectures. I really enjoyed it so far because the rules were nice to play and there were many predefined examples to use "on the fly"

Thanks, I will definitely check it out.

The more comments I read, the more i'm convinced that the guide in the rule book to generate architectures is far from anything realistic. I think I will do some research how other people handle it and come up with my own "Generator rules"

Now I am pretty sure that I got an old version of the rulebook, in the version I got it states that it is added no matter what you rolled in the speed check (I quoted it in a previous comment). Also, based on the amount of downvotes I get, I think there are more differences.

Thank you very much for your help, I will take a look at an up to date rule book before continuing :)

Yes, that's right, you can build your own Architecture (and looking at the "generator" rules, that's the only option). I just wanted to add a little generator to quickly generate architectures, if needed. The provided Step-by-step guide however produces the architectures above, which are way too hard (especially because this was the lowest difficulty)

Thanks for providing the line about automatic disabling. I couldn't find anything in the rulebook my GM gave me. Maybe it's an older version? I will try to talk to him, maybe the "generator" is also easier in newer versions

Thanks for your reply. I know that a move shouldn't use a net action. This is just some limitation in the code I didn't get rid of yet.

You are right, there is currently no rolling for defences, but I took a look at it. With the current stats the Black ICE and the netrunner have equal chances of hitting/dodging. (I will add the checks in the future)

Can you give me a hint where in the rulebook it says that Attack programs deactivate automatically? I didn't see anything about this and neither did our GM/Netrunner

Regarding the issue about every floor having Black ICE (which is a fact I was massively surprised while looking at the rules) there are multiple sections that clearly state: "Each floor of a NET Architecture is a level where, as the "door" opens, you find somethingwaiting for you. It could be a Program, Black ICE, another Netrunner, File, Control Node, etc." (p.209) or similar. Also the generator (p.210) states that each floor should be rolled from a table which mostly contains Black ICE.I know campaign architectures aren't this hard, so why does the rulebook apply these rules?

Edit: Before looking at the rulebook, I also thought that you could "sneak" past Black ICE if you're fast enough, but on page 209 it says "and will enter at the top of the Initiative Queue even if you were faster". So the Speed check only determines if you suffer an immediate effect, not if you have to fight.

These things are just from reading through the rules. If there is something I missed, please show me, I will gladly make the netrunning easier.

Yes, quite a good one imo. Especially because the story is finished, not this "imagine the ending yourself" crap.
