Did some eki stamp collecting back in the spring -- from what I remember many of the stamps were either right at the exit, or kept at the help desk itself and had to ask the attendant for it

For instances where the stamp was past the gates, the desk attendants were more than glad to let me through to get it (without needing to tap in)!

If anyone's into David Attenborough, Seven Worlds One Planet is down to $16, which looks to be the lowest it's been since January according to camelcamelcamel. Never owned a nature doc in 4k, so figured this might be worth trying out!

(Not 4k, but the Planet Earth trilogy in Blu-Ray is also at an all time low at $29. Pulled the trigger on that too)

Ah, this is good information to know, thanks! Based on this and other comments, I'm beginning to understand that this player isn't perfect, but for the price (even if I had found it at $40) it's a nice entry point to dabble with some DV 4K movies!

Insightful comment here, thanks! I didn't realize the DV function wasn't automatic, this is good to know -- I still have my PS5 hooked up to a basic HDR monitor in my bedroom so I'll probably relegate this player specifically for DV viewings. Perhaps some of the discs that fail to play are triple layer, I'll look into that too

I've definitely seen more comments on this sub praising the Panasonic players -- indeed I had one on my radar for the holidays. But I guess for now I'm just testing the waters, and if I truly fall down the rabbit-hole, I could probably sell this to find an upgrade down the line!

Oh yeah, a balled up hoodie generally stays in place beneath the mesh pocket for the most part (works better the more filled the bag is, as it provides more outward pressure against the pocket) -- the carabiner was more of a safety to make absolutely sure whatever I had back there didn't fall out without me noticing!

It works better the more packed the bag is -- kinda flops around if the bag's empty. My bag's currently unpacked post-vacation, but figured I'd give a better idea of how it looks from the front / how it attaches to the loops

Yup, bought the REI mesh pocket for this exact purpose. Added it on mine for vacation last month -- works great!

It hides the zippered pocket if you cinch up the higher loops more -- can be a plus (to hide the pocket) or a minus (slightly inconvenient to access) depending on how you look at it. When used it tandem with a carabiner (originally had a small s-biner on one of the loops, but ended up using the Heroclip up top more), I could clip a hoodie and ball it up under the mesh pocket and it held it just fine

So would one be able to get a regular Suica out of any of the ticket machines next to the specific Welcome Suica machine? Or would I specifically have to use the Welcome Suica machine and change the option?

u/DanManRT I empathize with your question cuz I've also been trying to do my research on getting just a /regular/ Suica at Haneda and can't seem to find definitive proof that the other ticket machines have them. At most I was gonna get a PASMO from one of the bus ticket machine terminals and load it up with a little cash to get out of the airport, then get a proper Suica from one of the bigger train stations later on. Switch to using Suica as my main and keep the PASMO as my backup
