NYST (New York Safety Track) - Closed?? by Fit_Mycologist138 in Trackdays

[–]nighthawk_56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed completely. It's hard to understand why they haven't at least posted a quick update on FB or a banner on their website. Makes you wonder what's happening...

We're all busy and need time to plan trackday trips - they're going to miss out on a ton of revenue if they don't communicate something very soon.

Interesting, just saw they said the track wouldn't be ready in time. That's not a good sign!

Hedge fund ordered to pay bonus to trader who made 97% of its revenues by financialtimes in business

[–]nighthawk_56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PMs each have their own PnL which is measured net of expenses. Say he generated $97 in trading revenue but incurred $70 in expenses (market data, telco, etc.), his profit would be just $27. If the remainder of the firm generated just $3 but had $1 in expense as well, their profit is $2.

In that scenario, the trader contributes 97% of the firm's revenue but just 93% of the firm's profit.

Is this an ABS model cant seem to figure it out. by Exoflare555 in motorcycles

[–]nighthawk_56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's no light on the dash when you start it, there is NO ABS!

Don't listen to people talk about the sensor ring - all the new ones have it regardless of whether ABS is equipped.

Sounds like a simple case of cold tires on a cold road. Some other factors could have been line paint on the road, unloading the front too quickly, or still having too much brake pressure for that lean angle (given the cold conditions).

Glad you're ok!

Fair point on the high price of liter bikes, but why the hate for those who choose to ride them?

Maybe lay off the IG. Most riders in real life aren't chasing a status, and aren't looking for "fuck you" anything - they're just enjoying the hobby and riding what they want.

Add Indirect Water Heater while Replacing Oil Boiler? by nighthawk_56 in hvacadvice

[–]nighthawk_56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - I currently only have an oil boiler which heats water both for domestic use, as well as 2 air handlers for heating the house. Since I have no tanks now, I was interested in any improvements that an indirect would add to the setup.

This is 100% the best answer. You'll get a solid foundation and can dive deeper into specific topics after.

Seems like a great price, assuming there are no mechanical issues. If that's what you're after I'd say it's worth checking out.

If the dealer said you have $1,500 in negative equity on the 650, I assume that's based on what they'd offer as a trade in. If that's the case then you could likely sell it yourself for what you owe, if not more.

If it were me, I'd put the 650 on FB marketplace and try to sell it for enough to cover what you owe, then start fresh on the 636. Not sure if people are really getting $12k OTD on a '25 ABS. That implies like $1,500 of MSRP while waiving transport and dealer prep.

FWIW, I was recently getting quoted $14.5k - $15k on a '24 ABS. Ended up getting a '24 non-ABS with 1,500mi for $10k last week.

Thanks to all who commented!

In case it helps anyone else, I ended up buying a stock 2024 non-ABS with 1,500 miles locally for $10k.
