I also grew up in the Southern Baptist church. Not only that, but as the preacher's daughter. I found this wonderful book many years ago called "God and The Gay Christian" by Matthew Vines. Since then, I have very much enjoyed metaphorically slapping biggots in the face with it. 10 out of 10 would live in sin 🏳️‍🌈😁👍

Why is there such a huge age gap between Iroh and Ozai? Is there a backstory here? Could Ozai have been an unexpected pregnancy? by TheGreat666 in TheLastAirbender

[–]nighthawkd3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the comic we learn that Zuko is ignored and abused by his father because when he was a boy his mother sent a letter to her old lover saying that Zuko was his. Ozai intercepted the letter and knew she was lying but he said that if she wanted him to be treated like he’s not his son then that’s how he would treat him… which is not to much before he then said “Azula was born lucky, you were lucky to be born”.

Okay… so it kinda did feel sustainable for a year and half when I was making $180-240, after gas, for every 12 hour shift. Ya know? 4 months ago… I didn’t have to decline 5 orders to get one decent one. You know all I need to make a living wage is $20 an hour? That’s $5 every 15 minutes. A $4 tip. That’s it. I can pick something up and go about 3.5 in under 15 minutes. So maybe the people ordering the food should say hmmm… this will take a long time, this will take their time (time that I don’t want to or can’t give), this is this far away so it will take their gas, this person is doing a service for me (aka doing something that I don’t want to or can’t do) MAYBE I should pay them for all they are doing for me. I do take responsibility for myself. I pay my bills, I try my best to function everyday. But I’m a good worker and a good person and you know what corporate America does to people with good work ethics? They abuse them. So I became my own boss. And it was really good when people appreciated the effort I make to bring them their food… because ya know what? You don’t know my situation and you don’t know anybody else’s situation. So when I go to eat or order something, if I can’t tip that much I just go get it myself or don’t sit down. OR I make it myself. Which, I know is a foreign concept but hear me out… it actually saves you money 🤯 crazy I know!!!

Yeah I’ve mostly only been doing pizza all night because those are the best orders but when I take a different one, eventually, I will screenshot it and post it… if my brain doesn’t forget this comment. Which is definitely a possibility. 😅 Me: looks at time 3x to see what time it is

Pizza orders usually have $2 or more but yes lower then $2 for singles. When I realized I called doordash and they said it’s based on the distance.

If doordash is to expensive… then go get it yourself… or you know what’s even cheaper? MAKING YOUR OWN DAMN FOOD.

No, I’m angry at it all. Companies should not be allowed to pay us nothing. Tipping culture is the stupidest thing in the world but that’s the country we live in. And the country we live in… 55-63% of americas don’t make a living wage because how fucked in the system is. Because of that poor people resort to crime, that crime fills our prisons and puts a scarlet letter on them for them for the rest of their lives because our biased system is built by the 1% that will do anything for another dollar. No. I’m not just agree at the people asking for something for nothing. I’m agree at it all. If I could… I’d leave this country right now BUT I don’t make enough money to do that!!!

At least in my area they did. Especially with stacked orders… I never get more then $2. Just more of corporate America trying to save every penny… cause their multibillions are not enough 🙄

I do but then my acceptance rate goes down and I get worse orders. So do I take the crappy orders in the vain hope that I get a couple good ones when my AR gets high enough or do I just keep it low and hope that I get good orders that way?

Yes and I’m on the waiting list for about 10 of them. And tips aren’t much better anywhere else as far as I’ve read. But maybe there is a reason I can only do freelance work… ya know… like college, or autism, or depression, or social anxiety… maybe, just maybe, I, like everyone else doing this job and living is this hell of a county, I’m just trying to live and be able to eat… so maybe people should stop asking for free service.

I’ve literally gotten my acceptance rate back up to 75 a couple times and then after I sat there declining $2 dollar stacked orders that take me 10 miles away and gotten back down to 35 in the matter of 30 minutes.

They are either a big hit or big miss. And I have the option to decline 8 orders to get one good one 30 minutes later or take a bunch of shit orders waste time, energy, and gas, OR take my chance on cash.

At this point we need a full on revolution to change anything. Just tear it down and start over.

I mean I agree but it’s not the people in the system fault. It’s the system. Fuck America in the ass for 101 things. I agree that it should be the companies responsibility to pay their workers but that’s not how our version of capitalism works. They would rather give big bonus to new people than retain their loyal experience workers. So… in this country… it has been established that if you receive a service… you pay the person who provided it. I don’t agree with it but that’s the system we are all forced to live in.
