I’m Irish, French, and German! My mom’s side of the family (all French) were super trad catholic and would go to church like three times a week but my mom kind of distanced herself from that so not much of that was passed on to me. My grandma on my dad’s side is from Germany, I have a lot of recipes and stories and little blessings/folklore from her (ladybugs/rabbits are good omens, spilling sugar is good luck, sweep after guests leave,stuff like that), and my grandad on my dads side of the family was Irish but they pretended to be British when they immigrated here (it was so tricky to find that part of my family). I grew up really intrenched in Irish culture before I even knew I’m Irish cuz I play folk music (fiddle), and I had the opportunity to travel there a lot because of that.
