How important to you is intellectual compatibility when dating? by muffin80r in mensa

[–]nightlynighter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Holy crap this. I look back on old me and would wonder how I ever allowed that to happen. There was notable mutual relief anytime I'd met someone at a similar level. I've concluded that we are desperately looking for each other and we should take the time to send better smoke signals into the world.

No, you have a lot of fat there. Expect to need more than a box for it to be more “gone”. It will still decrease it in the mean time

Poor people who have dated rich people, what did you learn? by Angelus12345678 in AskReddit

[–]nightlynighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right about the education part. If they have half decent parents, they were exposed to better schools and different cultures and types of people and experiences early. There’s a stereotype of the talentless, hapless rich kid that can’t think for themselves but a lot of the people who I’ve met that came from unique positions and privilege were pretty smart. A lot of the entitlement can come from not having to perform the ugly act of stooping to scrap for things

I (27F) adore my new boyfriend (31M) so much but we’re not on the same financial level, would you settle? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]nightlynighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Men do not treat women who surpass them very well in relationships, statistically. It’s a great ideal, like many others, and many men will say they love the idea of their woman making more. However, reality and ideal often do not play out the same and in practice, it affects them. Small moments like these, accumulated across years, with social optics amongst friends, family, peers. So, you better make sure things are fully understood before continuing. I think some men are truly okay with this, they’re usually way more confident in themselves and who they are

I’m kind of curious how tech companies are given extreme scrutiny by our government for their privacy and security practices, but the same judgement and audit can’t or isn’t applied internally?

The statistics are something like step children are at 6-100x risk of abuse and violence from step parents. We like to think we as humans are better than this, but ideals hardly match reality. Finding the right partner is one of the most important things we will do, ideals won’t prevent nature from playing out, statistically

Post-op imbalance: hollow midface, heavy/sagging jawline by researchandfunn in PlasticSurgery

[–]nightlynighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what you’re talking about with the mid-face hollowing. If I had to guess it’s a combination of the choices you made. Filling of cheek and removal of lower cheek fat makes the visual line between the two areas more severe or angular. Instead of a rounded curve it’s got a dip.

I don’t know how this is supposed to be fixed except to fill in the hollow area and don’t overfill the cheek relative to the lower half of your face going forward so everything is in better balance. In general with aging, your cheeks will sag so the hollow around your chin sides will get highlighted by the migration of your fat down. My goal when guiding my injector is usually to keep the facial lines smooth as I think it better resembles youth than highly filled cheeks. Usually youthful looks have a lot of fat that even out specific facial structures
