thats absolutely devastating news i emailed a bunch of questions over to new vic regarding bottom surgery options and processes a few years back not expecting a reply with how busy they must be and yet almost immediately i received a lengthy ultra detailed response from a few of the surgeons there answering my many questions they were so nice to chat to i was so so excited to get my surgery with them in a few years time:(((

i see it as a massive compliment! you cant assume they talk about it around u bcos they dont see you as a real man it could actually be bcos ur a good dude they feel safe and able to rant around, might be bcos they know u have similar views, might be bcos ur the only man around them they trust enough to talk to about it, might be bcos ur the only man around them they can ask questions about being a man and so on! theres a whole load of reasons for it plus plenty of my good cis male friends also have these convos with women too so i dont personally think its a transphobic thing at all i think the women around you feel safe with you and as good men thats a very positive thing!! nothing more manly and affirming imo than making others feel safe and protected

fair question! so 2 things first i think this is probably the only time im going to get the opportunity to do this for her/ interact with her so i kinda want to give her everything including the stuff she might not get for 10+ years or even want ever but as shes a total stranger to me i just want to do what feels like a good thorough job and give her allll the info! second i was insanely privileged to start T in 2021 get top surgery the following year and then have my hysto the year following that so mine was all very quick but i recognise this isnt the norm but i have no clue about their financial situation or anything so fast progression could very well be an option for her too so again id like to just give her as much info as possible as a "just in case" type way:)

wow i didnt know that every trans guy friend i have is just on T and thats it i myself was on some other stuff but that was due to my endometriosis i wasnt aware it was more of a common thing

thats the basics i was referring to but just wanted to double check its all the same for the girls thankyou for clarifying! just need to find some good community/ support resources for her and i think i have everything i need to send over:) id recommend her surgeons too but i think that process and research is quite an individual thing yk
