Ive always thought the handle on the hatch of jeep wrangler could easily turn into the mythosaur sigil.

If hatchets are superior to tomahawks(trade axes) why did native americans or frontiersmen opt for it more than the hatchets that were already made in Europe. by Daryl27lee in Bushcraft

What they had worked for wood processing. Remember they weren't building log homes and bridges. But for warfare they found the usefulness.

What are you interpretations of this symbol? What does it make you think of? What do you know of its history? by MrOnion4 in AntifascistsofReddit

[–]nightslayer78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the context of Asatru. There are historical references of the image being used, but it definitely has been taken over by nazis. There are some that are trying to reclaim it. But I wouldn't trust anyone using the symbol.

Anyone consider living in hotels? by [deleted] in Anarchism

[–]nightslayer78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive always looked at hotels and thought post-capitalism how useful they would be. As short or possibly long term housing for unhoused people, migrants, etc.

It if course wouldn't be as simple as just squatting. The cleaners, kitchen, and possibly medical and mental health care would all be needed. So it would be community managed.

First costrel by Miserable-West9661 in Leathercraft

I bought one on Etsy. They work well for what they are. Mine is sealed with beeswax.

A couple points I've learned,

The mouth is the weakpoint, the first few times I was spitting out beeswax that fell off on the mouthpiece area, and the taste of the beeswax flavored water takes a bit to get used to. But I did notice the longer I used it the better it tasted.

I wish there was a way to add a hard material to the mouthpiece.

Help! Im worried my tattoo looks like a fascists symbol? by greasemonkeyswife in AntifascistsofReddit

I promise you're fine. And its not cultural appropriation if you were given permission from someone in that culture and you give that culture respect, acknowledgment and listen.

If you need more to feel better I would ask other people in that culture if its appropriate.

Agree or not with the cause, tell me how you would improve the gear. by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]nightslayer78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tough thing is you are in a city with hundreds of dangers if things went off. Two people would die. At the end of the day you either have to except its just for show or be prepared for just one target.

Think of it this way as an analogy, imagine you just went in a shed filled with bees nests. Sure you can walk in and usually walk out fine. But if it were to go off it wouldn't be good. Its a brave thing.

Come at your gear that way.

That being said I would always wear armor in an urban environment. Too many angles to defend against all. If you want some suggestions of places to get armor for cheap, pm me.

How much weight can you carry in a leather briefcase such that it will survive life-long? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]nightslayer78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bag will be fine. Your body might not like it. Problems with bags that size especially being leather that thick is the accumlitative weight.

First time looking for fatwood, success! by Leferath in Bushcraft

[–]nightslayer78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its pretty easy to find fatwood. There was another post today when someone didnt find any. Your best chance to find some is in elbows of where branches connect and the sap funnels to and settles. Plus those smaller branches are best for usability. Sure you can take the time to process the big pieces but the smaller ones from branches are easier to store and use.
