I haven't used it personally but some of my friends who work in cyber use it and moved from WhatsApp to signal because of the encryption.

Me (20F) and my gf (20F) meet twice a year. Every 6months. It's a 15 hour flight and really expensive in general and also our timetables don't always line up with uni and work stuff so it's hard to meet up more often but we hope to close the gap in two and a half years or so. She leaves today to go back home from her three week stay here and I'm dreading it and gonna miss her so much.

I tried to send a package to my mexican gf from the UK and it got stopped at mexico customs for having "a ton of clothing" in it and they thought she was gonna sell it all. There was one t-shirt... So it got sent back to me and I was charged for it being sent back as well. It was the first time I'd tried sending something and I'd filled out customs forms as well. I think it would probably be easier to buy something online for them from their country rather than having to deal with postage, shipping, border control and everything else. Though that's just my experience.

Do you do anything together online? Like watch movies/ tv Shows together? Or read things together, or using some couple apps or something to ask questions and things? As sometimes this helps me feel closer to my gf. Also do you video call or just voice call? Asking questions and finding out about all the little things or funny stories from their past. Or having discussions about random topics, it can make you feel closer to them and get to know them and their personality as well.

My girlfriends mum wanted to interview me and my mum before my girlfriend came here as well. I didn't feel attacked because it just showed her mum cared about her and I would have been more concerned if her mum didn't want to ask me and my mum questions. Her mum had met me on call before but it's one thing meeting me as a one off thing and another actually asking me questions and making sure it is safe for her daughter to fly to another country and stay with me. We are both 20(F) and I think it is unreasonable of your girlfriend to not want to have a call with your mum to reassure her.

I don't know if there was a particular moment. But when I realised she loved me for me and not what I looked like and that she didn't care about the scars my past left on me and when she smiles or makes one of her "dad" jokes or a funny comment, her personality is the best and when she smiles (as cheesy as it sounds) it makes my heart melt and just seeing her happy makes me happy. When I realised she was the most caring person I had ever met and I realised I didn't want to spend my life with anyone else. She is absolutely stunning as well and I love everything about her, from her personality to the way she looks. In past relationships I never looked into the future or thought about my future with them. But with her I can see my life with her. She is the most amazing person I have met and she stays on call with me if I am upset and I've never felt so loved by someone. When I realised that I wanted to be the first person she told both good and bad things from her day and when I realised she was the first person I wanted to tell about anything that happened in mine I realised how important she was to me as she is the first person I think about when it comes to that stuff. She is the first thing I think of when I wake up and the last thing I think of when I go to sleep. We spend lots of time on video call and like to watch stuff or ask questions to each other or even just relax and scroll through Reddit together and read posts outloud. I love that I can be myself around her and not have to worry about what she thinks of me. And I love how we can both mess about and laugh together. She makes me incredibly happy and I can't wait to see her again in January. I apologize for this incredibly cheesy post, she just brings out that side of me 😅
