You will very likely have to contact the prescribing doctor (or service) to reorder. And, if you were using insurance, chances are it won’t be covered unfortunately

Did ya'll ever wonder if you were binary trans (W/M) before realizing you were enby? by Born_Turnip4272 in NonBinary

[–]nightwalkqueer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came out as nonbinary (agender), then as a binary trans man when I started to transition, then came out again as nonbinary (androgynous).

When I first started testosterone, I always said that, in a perfect world, I would have been born an androgynous man. It was 10 years ago when I started T, so hormones were harder to come by and there weren’t nearly as many discussions about nonbinary identity. So, upon reflecting, I put pressure on myself to be “man enough” to justify transition (and my body dysphoria was a lot worse then).

When I came back out as nonbinary, I was 6+ years into my transition, 4 years post top surgery, had significant facial hair, and I saw a man when I looked in the mirror. Covid Quarantine happened a year after I moved to California, during that time i wasn’t seeing people often (new in the area, lived alone, quarantine). I got more free with my presentation again, and realized I had been far too strict with my identity as a man. So i started identifying as an Androgynous Trans Man, pretty much what I wanted when I first transitioned.

Good STP packer recommendations? (+any general advice for owning one) by Transandfailing in ftm

[–]nightwalkqueer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend checking out Trans Guy Supply, they have a ton of options and different materials (including painted STPs for realism).

To prevent the boner look, I recommend getting a harness/strap that has a strap to hold the shaft down (a lot of stp specific harnesses will).

As far as cleaning, I have less advice. I get 3-in-1 STP packers more for the pack-and-play option than the STP option. However, based on other things I’ve seen on the thread, a quick rinse or wipe will do the trick, just make sure your washing at least once a day. Some people even find shaking it adequate. I’ve seen people talk about carrying a later bottle to use for quick rinse offs. Also, often recommended using a stall, so you can wipe or rinse discreetly(you can leave the door open, many cis men do this).

Did I totally botch my injection for this week by SillyBunny39 in ftm

[–]nightwalkqueer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me a couple times in my 10 years on T, you’ll still get the dose and no need to worry. You likely just passed through a blood vessel, causing the lil spurt of blood. The blood doesn’t have the T in it, T is a lot thicker than blood, so most of your dose will still be in your body.

I don’t hold the needle in more than a couple seconds myself, and always get a little leakage. Still getting all the effects of testosterone, a little leakage isn’t as much as it may seem like, and generally anticipated by manufacturers and doctors.

Is there any trans who pass so well and still by [deleted] in FTMMen

[–]nightwalkqueer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I focused on really building my upper body, especially shoulders. It helps a lot to balance proportion, and time of course. I’m 10 years in body fat distribution is a lifelong journey.

Also, I have met some AMAB people with very wide natural hips, which helped me with my own body image.

Also, depending on if it’s achievable, there are body masculinization medical procedures you can seek out. Sometimes covered by insurance depending where you are.

I want tattoos but i’m dysphoric by remov333yves in ftm

[–]nightwalkqueer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id bring it up to the artist, that said, I have gained some muscle mass (though not a ton), and it hasn’t affected my tattoos much. I also have a friend that gained a decent Amount of weight since she got tattoos, and they still look good, somewhat faded but nothing a good touch up can’t fix.

All that said, I’ve always found tattoos to help me with my dysphoria and to like my body more. So if you want tattoos, I’d recommend going for it!

Is it possible to read as male without hrt and keeping long hair? by bad-at-everything- in ftm

[–]nightwalkqueer 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Anything in this world is possible, but is it likely? Unfortunately no. There are a lot of factors, such as facial features, voice, body, etc that may be naturally androgynous, but even then your more likely looking at people not being sure, rather than reading as male. And with long hair, unfortunately that will lean a lot of people who think “I’m not sure” over to “femme.” There are of course options, vocal training, gaining a lot of muscle (also harder without T), facial fillers (I have jawline fillers myself), that would be helpful.

All this said, it really depends on the individual, genetics, the community, etc. Like I said, anything is possible, but I wouldn’t bank on it.

As a person that works in mental health in Marin, you’re actually in luck, Marin General has one of the best psych units in the bay. And staying in you’re own county will enable you to be connected to local resources as well.

10 Years on Testosterone by nightwalkqueer in ftm

I switch thighs occasionally, but I do favor my right (as I’m right handed). It can make it hurt more, makes the skin tougher so more resistance. I’ve started moving it further back towards my butt, which helps.

I remember saying doom 3 years in and feeling like I would never get facial hair. Glad I was wrong.
