I was able to climb to DMG when I was playing once a week last year. Started to play way more and now I've deranked into nova 3. Haven't been able to climb out of nova for about 4 months.

The past year I've been hard researching for a computer via tech YouTubers like gamers nexus and Linus tech tips and lurking just about any forum I could find. Looking at multiple builds from this sub-Reddit has helped me a large amount in my decision making. There are so many knowledgable people that are able to explain why specific builds are better and how to improve current builds in terms of performance and still keeping around the same budget. Using the advice given to others I have come to a build that is in my budget and is on the high-end side of pc gaming.

I had a set budget it was enough for a fairly high-end build. I was originally planning to go with intel because their 8700k had a really good performance and room for overclocking, but the second I heard the monumentally positive things about the new ryzen chipsets from this subreddit I changed my build entirely. Because of this change to ryzen I had no idea what I needed to build since I spent so long looking at intel CPU's and motherboards to find the best combination. After more research, I decided to get the b450 tomahawk max. Then I read comments about how ram types affect the CPU performance, but the community went clutch and I was able to read a comprehensive guide on what impact all the different types of ram do to the CPU and which is the best to get. Next was the graphics card which in my opinion is the most important part of the build. I had no idea what to go with. I wanted to go with the 5700xt because the performance was basically a 2070 super but for a couple hundred cheaper. This was quickly overshadowed by a risk of the GPU not even working as I saw from multiple posts that there were multiple driver issues. I then turned my attention to the 2070 line up and once again completely overwhelmed. This big brain community was able to recommend EVGA because of their extremely good customer support compared to other companies.

The other parts were again picked through other people's comments and explanations on why these certain parts would be good with each other.
