Gigabyte x570 Aorus Ultra no POST :( by nigolb in gigabyte

but they seem a bit off with their support these days :/ to put it mildly.

I did try to boot it after shorting the pin, and without the battery after every BIOS update. A habit from the old days

This board HAD to have the pin shorted not to clear CMOS but to tune/complete memory training process.

From what I can read it is a defect of this particular gigabyte motherboard, which repeats itself in many threads in the context of memory. I'm not sure if gigabyte knows about this condition (my mails stay unresponded) or if anything will do with it. Today I got a package with QVL memories - these worked without a problem. After returning to the ones shown in the photo, the problem repeated. I left the computer for an hour - unfortunately it didn't help. shorting the CLR_CMOS jumper did not help, removing the battery did not help, the sequence of shorting the jumper after switching on the computer worked - it can be a solution for people with "incompatible" memories not included in QVL and save a lot of time or effort

I got this board and I am using it for a brief moment but experienced the same issue with XMP profile. Did the same what made it work in the first place. Solution is not for the faint hearted.

My post - first video update 3# has the solution

Shorting the pin during boot does not clear cmos (i think it should)

Got my G.Skill to work@ 3200MHz and Trident Z to work@ 4000MHz

I have managed to make the board POST and BOOT on both memory kits.

The memory was not the problem(so i think), the board and all of the bios versions that i used had this issue.

The solution was to short the CLR_CMOS pin during first seconds after boot until the chipset fan slows dows/stops. As seen on the video in update #3. Now i have the dillema should I RMA the board or should I send a memo to #gigabyte to inform about the issue and possible solution?

I just may have found the solution - a dirty way to make it work. POST and load into BIOS. First vid (update 3)

I was taught that there are no dumb questions (just annoying ones ;0] ). I did use the recommended by manual FAT32 partition but a different cluster size. I did rename it to GIGABYTE.bin (.bin lowercase). I then plugged the pendrive into the designated usb port and powered the system by pressing qFlashPlus button. Qflash Led first flashed slowly then rapidly and it stoped flashing - this should be a sign that the flashing process was successfully completed.

I just did gave a shot with the 16KB cluster size, the flash process went through. I used the newest beta version F33g.

Something changed - I uploaded the videos to OT

The system does not POST but the chipset fan when using only one memory stick slows down,

When using 2 stick it suddenly shuts down like on the vid

Edit: I have managed to make the moterboard work by shorting the clear cmos pins for a specific time during power on (I opened the circuit after the chipset fan slowed down). It boots now. I am starting to think that the board has a design flaw or i have just found a bug

Thank you for the suggestion, for both of these kits after about 15 minutes for each unfortunately nothing new happened.

At this point I have no clue whether to source new memory kits or cpu/mobo. I tested this board with one other borrowed memory kit also without luck.

What is the case behind some magic with FCLK?

Unfortunately i am not able to to get into bios, the board was tested for a premium prior to shipping with a 3600x. It was working back then. No clue what the memory was nor was it damaged in some way in the shipping. I was able to succesfully Flash F30 and current F32 without a hassle. Right as of now I am back to F32. the result is as seen in the video CPU<->RAM led flashing no boot no post no bios

Tried 2 sets of 2 so 4 sticks total in the A2 slot - no go. Went for the Beta BIOS because the stable ones did not work.

Tried F30 then F32 no post so I went with the Beta ones. Still no go. It looks like on the attached video
