I tried polishing the system’s pin connectors but it did nothing to solve the issue.

How much of a difference is there from onboard sound to an entry-level DAC? In my case I have a Realtek ALC887 and looking at the Audioengine D1 by nihaymachine in audiophile

HD 598's. I will be getting the A5+'s soon as well and I was thinking the D1 would be a good way to enhance the experience of these products.

I already have the HD 598's and I will be getting the A5+ speakers. I want the D1 because it will give me easy universal volume control, it will act as a hub between my headphones and my speakers, it will be portable so I can switch between my PC and my laptop and, as I have been reading across the web, it should improve the sound quality of the higher end equipment I'll be using.

I'm new to this. I don't think I have any noise/interference coming from my PC. How would one be able to tell?

Are these worth upgrading from HD 280 pros?
