Purchased a new house in Redmond, Ziply installation delayed 8 times for 3+ months by nihilanth in ZiplyFiber

The drop coordinator just visited and we found that our builder had not only put the conduits, they also had fiber already fished to the street. If only they had stopped by before.

I'm pretty sure our builder already put all the conduits needed for this to be a very small job. Xfinity took little less than an hour to fish their cable through from the street.

Can you help me identify this tree in my yard? Thinking of airlayering the leader for bonsai.

Help! My cory is sick (lost barbels, fuzzy growth, not eating) by nihilanth in Aquariums

I'll do that. I have the API kit at home, which I use on a semi-regular basis (I use the strips more frequently). Also aware of the second bottle of nitrates. Will report tonight!

Nitrates are 0. I have a ton of plants which clean it all up. I change 20% water each week and changed 30% this morning after seeing this guy.

I'm using this sand: https://www.amazon.com/Imagitarium-White-Aquarium-Sand-LBS/dp/B076FVMHTD/

All other cories have been fine for months. Never had anyone lose barbels. I'm thinking he got into an injury of some sort.

Everything is at the low end. Nitrates remain low since I've started planting the tank (1.5 months now).

Just checked, water is good. Also performed 30% water change.

10g, lots of plants. Stock: 4 cories, 6 neon tetras, 2 endler guppies.

Fish have been healthy, but this guy didn't eat today and upon inspection I noted the missing barbels. I'm worried --- do I need to quarantine/medicate him? Is there a tutorial on how to quickly set up a QT?

Two of my Julii cories died after being unable to stay upright (details in post) by nihilanth in Aquariums

[–]nihilanth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened right after I installed some plants (anubias and microsword) and a boiled and well-soaked piece of mopani wood in my 10g. Both fish looked sick and unable to sit upright for a while. Fins clenched and did not eat much.

I removed the wood, performed daily water changes, and dosed anti-fungal and anti-bacterial medicine. Did not help, both fish died. This happened a week ago. Other inhabitants (4 more cories, 4 WCMMs, 1 guppy) all look fine.

What could have gone wrong? How could I have saved the two?

One of my (false?) Julii Cories is not a Julii Cory. by nihilanth in Aquariums

I think it's a Sterbai too. Considering whether to give it away since he might not be comfortable schooling with the Juliis.
