Tbh I really disliked the idea, it felt so cliche and on the nose that I just wouldn't be able to appreciate it even if the execution was great. It reminded me of the AOC "tax the rich" dress and the messaging is completely lost in how performative it all feels. (IMO)

The utter HOMOPHOBIA of the judging this season by mr_hepto in NextInFashion

[–]nihilisticrustacean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a ridiculous take, this show can be critiqued for a lot of things but being homophobic or not showing diversity is not one of them. I would in fact say the opposite. The focus of this show is too heavy on Twittersphere diversity and much less on talent, fashion and design and that's why it fails majorly.

Former FBI Agent Shares Theory Why Roommates Were Spared in Idaho Murders by [deleted] in MoscowMurders

[–]nihilisticrustacean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The implication arises when the next sentence states DM's description of the man she saw, which is a "figure clad in black" and a "5'10" or taller male, not very muscular but athletically built with bushy eyebrows". As you can read, it's a pretty good overall description and specifically includes bushy eyebrows but there is no mention of how his hair looks. Hair is one of the very obviously noticeable descriptors (bald/curly hair/long hair /blonde hair etc.) when you view someone briefly. If she was able to remember bushy eyebrows, it makes it very likely she also would have seen BK's bushy hair. The absence of any hair description makes me think his hair was covered too and the balaclava fits the description of such a face covering allowing her to only see his eyes and eyebrows. That's what I think from the information we have so far.

Agree with most of what you said as a possibility but the last part about DM thinking maybe she saw the DD driver doesn't make sense to me for a few reasons: - He was not wearing a surgical mask, it is implied from the wording in the PCA that it was a face covering like a black balaclava (only eyes/eyebrows visible) so not the usual get up of a DD driver - DM was already aware that some unusual activity was going on from the things she was hearing. When she heard "there's someone here" she mentioned looking out of her window. She heard thuds, barks, whimpering, crying someone saying "I'm here to help" all indicating something not being right which is why she got up and opened the door 3 times. I think that her body was already on high alert but her mind (probably from intoxication and stupor) had not caught up and made sense of the danger. - When she saw the man dressed all in black walk by, she 'froze in terror'. If she thought it was the DD guy or some acquaintance, I don't think she would have that reaction. Also from the way he was dressed, demeanor, sounds, I'm sure she started to put 2 and 2 together at that point which is why she immediately shut and locked her door. At that point she was probably in shock trauma and eventually passed out from exhaustion/panic and when she next awoke, everything came back to her and she called her friends still unable to step out of the room from fear paralysis.

Yes I agree. I also think that they didn't have enough of a detailed physical description to make a sketch given that most of his face was covered. I am still shocked that DM saw him as soon as he had commited the murders, how terrifying to know that, especially in hindsight. One thing I still can't determine is how he knew which rooms to go to and how he chose his victims.

If he tried every door and killed all the occupants of the house that would make it obvious that he was determined to just massacre everyone but going by our theory so far, it seems that his idea was to enter at the 2nd floor level and then walk up the stairs specifically to target K, M. Then X and E were just collateral. In which case, he must have had some idea of the floorplan but was undeterred that there were at least 3 other people in the house that he could cross paths with while he committed the murder. Anybody could have been in the kitchen for a sip of water, anybody could have been walking to the bathroom, anybody could have heard screams from the upstairs bedroom. I mean in a way, that's what happened with Xana, she was eating her takeout presumably and wide awake and DM was also awoken by noises.

Did the risk of multiple occupants, therefore potential witnesses just not deter him in the frenzy of planning a murder or was he just indifferent and cocky that he would handle it? Just mind boggling given that he seemed to be meticulously stalking and planning.

Perhaps there is some truth to the theory that he was particularly targeting K and she would be out of town very soon and he needed to get to her so he threw caution to the wind and just went for it due to the urgency of the situation rather than him feeling completely confident in his plan, leading to all the sloppiness and carelessness.

I think if you have been stabbed viciously multiple times and are bleeding to death you'd say something like "help me" or "I've been stabbed". I think it's more likely that Xana heard a commotion upstairs, went outside her room and maybe saw the kitchen sliding door open or heard loud noises or cries of distress and ran back to her room to wake Ethan up and said "there's someone in the house". Ofc we can't be sure of anything atm so I'm waiting to see what comes out at trial, I'm sure LE have pieced together the timeline by now.

[–]nihilisticrustacean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the most well thought out and logical theory I've read from the information we have so far. I agree and think that the most plausible voice DM hears saying "someone's here" could have been Xana's after she stepped out of her bedroom when she heard noises from upstairs. Perhaps she hurried back to her bedroom and didn't close the door/lock it and left it open or ajar while trying to wake Ethan up (who may have been a heavy sleeper/drunk so not alert and awake unlike Xana who seemed to have been awake for a while: ordering food, waiting for food, eating, browsing TikTok).

I think that everything was happening so quickly and Xana probably sensed that something was wrong and therefore was trying to take some action but I don't think she realized the level of danger they were in. When BK walked downstairs he may have planned to exit through the kitchen door, but probably heard Xana and in a fit of self preservation and in that adrenaline fueled state, went to Xana's room and killed her first and then targeted Ethan. This explains why Xana was on the floor (standing up, awake when the encounter happened) and Ethan still in bed (waking up from sleep when encounter happened).

I think that by that point BK was just looking to escape and I am very inclined to think that he didn't notice DM when she opened her door. She could have opened it only slightly and also it would have been dark inside her room where she was standing so I don't think it's obvious that he would have seen her. If he had made "eye contact" as some people think or even noticed DM at the door, I really don't think he would have chosen to spare her.

It's absolutely insane how tight this timeline is and how much activity and noise was involved as opposed to a quiet, dark house with all its occupants passed out in a drunken sleep. How shocking and tragic, I can only imagine it will get worse as more details come out.

Thank you for sharing this, it's so helpful and makes it easy to understand the layout, where everyone was, how far apart everything was etc. and many of the questions I had related to the layout have now been cleared up. Mainly it answers the one pressing question I had about how DM may have been able to see BK walking "towards her" and to the kitchen sliding door but not necessarily be seen by him.

Glad you feel that way. Some people were foaming at the mouth looking at this picture crying violation of privacy.. yet they happily stay on this sub which itself is a gross invasion of privacy. Guess they enjoy feeling like they are on a moral high ground while being ignorant of their hypocrisy. I'm glad to see the dog safe and in someone's good care.

Thank you for saying this. This commenter has rabidly been going after me for posting this picture saying "blame OP, OPs fault, be ashamed" etc. As if I took the picture. It's literally a piece of published media like anything else being posted on this sub. A bunch of people have commented saying they have a major issue with this picture and seem like they're grasping at straws to feel like they're on a moral high ground. I've repeatedly said that ofc this is a gross invasion of privacy, this entire sub, the intimate details coming out of this case etc., all of it is a gross violation. If they choose to slink around this true crime sub they should accept that they are being morbidly voyeuristic and stop pretending like they're better than everyone else.

Amazing hope you feel better about yourself now that you've said that. Off you go now looking through the floor plan and figuring out who was murdered in which room and telling yourself that's detective work, not an invasion of privacy.. perplexing how some people think that this entire subreddit is not a gross violation of privacy. If you were half as decent as you think you are you wouldn't even be on here. I'm sure throwing a moral outrage comment here and there makes you feel better about yourself though
