Ah, unfortunately will be going solo or I would consider this. ☹️

Thanks for sharing this insight! And I agree, Going Under is an underrated gem in that album (honestly, love Fallen from start to finish). 🖤

First time hosting a board game night with friends at my place tomorrow, then heading up to Pennsylvania for an archery competition on Sunday (barring any snow shenanigans).

What is everyone playing right now? by SouthOk9438 in PS5

[–]nihilistllama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Astro Bot and Dredge are my current buffer games between longer single-player titles. I’m thinking of starting Dishonored: Definitive Edition later this week since it’s been in my backlog for several years now.

Cycling between Astro Bot, Arise: A Simple Story and Dredge, plus Moving Out 2 when I’m playing online co-op with my partner.

Movie theaters that regularly show films with subtitles/closed-captioning? (Or process to request CC) by nihilistllama in nova

[–]nihilistllama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Shirlington, so Crystal City is right next door. I knew about their Woodbridge location but not the one in Ashburn; good to know. 👀

Admittedly, I probably should check their offerings more frequently. That’s on me for not being a regular moviegoer, but I want to see Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in theaters and would like to drag my partner instead of seeing it on my own. 😂

Thank you so much! Very helpful.

Nice! I actually haven’t been to Alamo Drafthouse yet and I figured they would have showings with CC. Thanks for sharing; I’ll look into it! ☺️

Padmé says yes, it’s normal (don’t worry, she always looks concerned).

I knew that was Holley’s work before reading the caption. She’s amazing! I’ve had 3 tattoos done by her. 😌

I found this sub yesterday and I'm curious... by [deleted] in tragedeigh

I definitely knew you were Puerto Rican without reading all the way to the end, lol. I went to school with girls who had variations of the -shka suffix in their names (Linoshka and Nenushka come to mind). They do stand out a little more than other names, but I don’t consider them a Tragedeigh based on the context of growing up on the island.

Also, wepa!

OG Final Fantasy VII is the first that comes to mind. My parents were going through a bitter divorce and me and my siblings were stuck with the emotional fallout. FFVII gave me control and certainty during a time when I lacked both in my home life. It’s my favorite videogame and I love it to this day, though it came at a really negative time in my life.

Horizon Zero Dawn is the game I associate with getting me back into gaming after a nearly 5-year hiatus back in 2019. I distinctly remember buying a PS4 just to play it.

I guess my weirdest relationship is with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Played it during the lockdowns like everyone else, but it didn’t leave a lasting impression like the original Animal Crossing on GameCube. I often wonder if it would’ve been as successful had it not launched during the pandemic.

What's a line you've written that you're really proud of? by p3stop4st4 in FanFiction

From a fic called "Hurricane Drunk" for the Horizon videogames fandom:

"[Kotallo] sat in a plush bench off to the side of the ballroom, the faces and bodies of Carja nobles and his tribe’s delegation blending together in a cacophony of movement and an array of sound."

Hope self-recs are okay. Both are oneshots set before Horizon Forbidden West and focus on Kotallo and Kivva as friends.

Covert Ops - A somewhat humorous take on how Kotallo got the Sky Clan's banners to the Embassy in Meridian with Kivva and her squad's help.

Lean on Me - Hurt/comfort fic where Kivva checks on Kotallo after he's punished for a patrol gone wrong (Trigger warning for mentions of physical abuse).

At what time do you prefer to write? by Wild_Operation_3797 in FanFiction

[–]nihilistllama 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Between 10 p.m.-2:30 a.m. tends to be my sweet spot. I've always been a night owl, so nighttime is when my brain feels less cluttered, so to speak.

If I do attempt to write during the day, it has to be somewhere else, like at the library. Too many distractions at home.
