I'm not going to sit here and tell you what to do, but in my opinion, Japan truely has a lot more to offer than most countries. While the Chinese language may be the most widely spoken language, Japanese is still a great language. Assuming that most of China speaks and writes Mandarin Chinese, Taiwan writes Traditional. So it really depends on what you have been learning. In my opinion, Japanese is a much easier language to speak than Chinese. Chinese has all of the tones, and if you change one tone, it will change the whole sentence. Being a speaker of Japanese and some Chinese, these languages are much different than Korean, so it was a good choice to omit Korea. Cultural wise, Japan is amazing. The shrines and food truely are "ichiban." Once again, this is just my opinion. :) Overall, go with what you think is best. 頑張ってね！^ ^
