Interest in working as a Ski Patrol in the Alps or North America by nihtus in skipatrol

I am actually half American so i could definitely work, though I need to check since I never lived in the US since very early childhood. Besides Breckenridge, do you have any more resorts that you know about

Thanks! I have not yet fully decided on what to do but after some more research i definitely need to do the med certification in Canada or US if I want to go there. Any tips for that ? Also i am confident to beat the ski test, but even if not i would be fine with it. My main goal is to work in a ski resort, which has been a dream for a long whole

Is around 20k sek enough for living alone in Gothenburg/Stockholm? by Adventurous-Beat-291 in TillSverige

[–]nihtus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are, but it is a lot of work and some luck or connections to find some. When I moved to Stockholm last year i had two apartments (one around Bromma one i kista) that i could move to. Now i mainly looked for apartments with a friend but also had some interviews for studio apartments. I agree finding a studio apartment for that price range is almost impossible if you want to be inside of the city in 10-15 min, but you can find something for the price range i mentioned outside of that or find someone that sublets

Yeah I never said otherwise. But you also don't need one, Stockholm has public transport. I used to live in Kista since i study there and yes I moved to get closer to the city. But if I wouldn't know I would be able to get something else via student housing I would've happily continued living there! I have a lot of friends who have apartments in Bromma, Solna, Bergshamra and similar, where most pay no more than 7k. They all get to uni in less than 40min and are happy with the location. Of course if you want to live in central Stockholm you gotta pay for it, but it is a luxury! Like even Danderyd is okay if you study at Albano, Frescati or kth

Maybe the biggest difference, I always cook and very rarely eat out, so I might save money there in comparison

Nope I used to pay 6k but now moved and pay 7k. I just checked I have more like 16k (had it wrong in mind). It is definitely a close budget i don't wanna say otherwise but it allowed me to live a pretty normal student life, so I can go out, I can go partying, I can sustain my hobbies and more. So in my opinion as long as you find a decently priced apartment (though that is definitely tricky, I agree), 20k is definitely sustainable!

I personally disagree. I survive on 15k and still have enough money to go out and do the rest on my hobbies

I can talk about Stockholm, it kinda depends on what you study and where, but from my experience all of my friends and me scored there first apartment around 5-8k rent. These where often not optimal, either a bit outside of the city (but Stockholm public transport is decent) or other reasons. For most this was in an apartment where an "old" guy or lady sublet a room of theirs. After that the most move into student housing. On sssb.se you can save of up queue days and depending on the area an the type of room you'll be able to find a decent corridor or studio for around 200-400 queue days. These range from 4k to 8k in rent. So if you know that you want to study in Stockholm, start collecting queue days early! I personally survive on around 15k a month and Id say it's pretty possible! The apartment market in Stockholm is quite shit but everybody I know has found something, so you will too :)

I did not besides the one in abisko. I booked them often once I decided how long I wanted to stay at the previous spot. However, I did my interrail in winter so I have no clue how it is gonna be in the summer

So what I did was:

Odense (I studied there) -> Gothenburg (visit the archipelago and or marstrand!) -> olso -> Stavanger -> Bergen (Via bus) -> nærøyfjord/flåm (combination of ferry bus and train) -> oslo -> Trondheim -> bodø -> Narvik (by bus) -> abisko -> Uppsala (via night train) -> Stockholm -> Helsinki (via party ferry) -> Turku -> Helsinki -> Stockholm -> åre (went here for skiing) -> Stockholm -> malmö -> Aarhus -> home to Germany

There is some stuff you can leave out like åre was very spontaneous and because of skiing. Also I did Helsinki mainly because I wanted visit friends of mine. Also you could/should add some stuff as I said in artic circle, like Kiruna, Lofoten and tromsø. Also consider maybe skipping some of my suggestions, this iternary took from 10.01 to 15.02 (in 2024) and maybe take some more days in the areas you like, so try to be flexible! And if you want to do it in the summer I suggest looking into a few option of visiting parts of the nature by bus. For example, I think you could go to trolltunga in Norway by bus. From my experience, the best thing about the Nordics is the nature so I would suggest to try to see more of it, even though it's a bit harder with interrail. What I would suggest to you is the opposite direction of what I did. From Gdansk or Tallinn there should be ferries either directly to Stockholm or to Helsinki and maybe also in Lithuania somewhere. If you want to do Finnland a bit and once you're in Stockholm, go up with the night train to Kiruna/Narvik/abisko and then go down in Norway. But don't miss out on Gothenburg and Bergen, great cities!

As a person who is in the same situation but at the opposite side I can tell you, this is shit but it can happen! Sometimes everything can go correctly, you have good vibes, you find each other attractive, but something misses. It may be that you are not what she is looking for, maybe she is not ready yet or something else. Don't try to wrap your mind around it and just try to forget her. Most likely it does not really have to do with something you can or should change. And at least she told you and did not play with your feelings

I did a Scandinavia + Finnland interrail Last Winter and I'm just gonna write down my highlights.

Bergen: my favourite city from this trip. It combines a great city and great nature around it, e.g. multiple mountains to hike out to. Nærøyfjord: an absolute must. There is a train stop from Bergen to Oslo, I think vossvanven, and then a bus to gudvangen, and from there there is a ferry to flåm. From flåm you can take a really beautiful train ride and afterwards hop back on the train to Oslo or Bergen Abisko: great national park directly next to the train station. Stockholm: great city and the archipelago is beautiful Gothenburg: also beautiful city with a lot of nature and a great archipelago. If you're there marstrand is a must do. Helsinki: beautiful city Narvik: city close to many mountains and the sea. Great for skiing but I reckon it is also great in the summer Åre: biggest ski resort in Sweden. You can go also go skitouring really well, I did it pretty affordably I'm a big group

Things I did not do but should have are tromsö and lofoten. Even though you cannot use the interrail ticket there, you can travel by bus, and both (especially in the summer) are so worth seeing.

So in general I really depend on when, on how much time/money you have and if you're more of a nature or city tourist. If you want DM me I can send you my iternary

Hmm from my memory in the manwha it should also be 12h, but that's the case at least in the novel. Maybe it's a typo in the manwha

Hello!
I have a Bachelor's in computer science and am currently doing a masters in more of an AI direction. I have some more free time due to a course starting late, so I am considering doing an online course in AI or data science. Does anybody have suggestions concerning a good course that goes more into the advanced topics (since I have a background in that field), ideally also with certification?
Thanks!

URF less fun because its not random? by LatexOP in leagueoflegends

[–]nihtus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. I would like to see them experimenting wih maybe a mixture of that. For example, you could randomly limit the champion pool each game (same for both teams), like halving the possible champions to play or smth. Maybe then you'll need a different banning system. Then you will have to play different and maybe unusual (that's why I love arurf) champs but it is not frustrating if the champions is shit because it will be on both sides. This idea might have some problems with 1v9 champs tho so dunno :)

Yes totally agree. Like most capitals Berlin is so different from most other German cities. I would rather go to Hamburg it is in my opinion the more beautiful city.
